Retranscription des paroles de la vidéo: uh hi everybody thank you for joining and I think we are ready to start because I see it’s already six o’clock at least our time and yeah so let’s get this uh show on the road so I’ll maybe briefly do some uh introductions and then uh we can get going so yeah Norbert and uh Gabor maybe turn on your video just in case so uh the webinar will be about as you see here on the screen high-tech agriculture with drones and what are the current challenges as well as Solutions uh so in the webinar it’s uh first conven me uh kristaps I’m the product owner of ugcs flight planning software from SPH engineering and then we’ll also have uh Norbert and Gabor from uh proof minder and they will talk a bit more in this details on what it is that they do and how do they use the drones in agriculture specifically uh their part is going to be the biggest part now in this webinar because yeah hopefully it will be also quite interesting for everybody I saw the presentation already and I think it’s worth waiting for so uh maybe initially just before we get into that I’ll just introduce about some general webinar information so like I said the agenda is that first I’ll explain a bit about the flag planning Tools in ugcs as well as what’s new in the newest version so a few days ago actually we released GCS 4.12 version so I’ll briefly talk about what’s in there and as well I plan to show you the software I’m sure many of you have probably already seen it but we also haven’t I’ll just do a brief uh overview of uh what can you expect when you start using GCS for your flight planning and then we’ll move on to the benefits of using uavs in the agricultural sector which will be covered by the guys from proof minder the approximate duration is approximately one hour might be a bit more than that plus the Q a section uh so um yeah everybody who’s here for all the attendees please if you have any questions during the webinar uh please make sure to put them in the Q a section and not the chat because questions can get lost in the chat with all the questions we’ll get in the Q a I will try to answer them uh we’ll answer them either over a text because we’re also joined by uh valeries from our support team here at uh SPH engineering and as well uh questioning it quite a lot is so will the recording be available on YouTube so the answer is yes so after the webinar or in case maybe you can’t really stay up until the end you will be able to replay this webinar and re-watch it on YouTube but of course for asking questions and interacting with us this is why we’re all gathered here to talk about drones talk about agriculture so I think then let’s get started uh just briefly about our company so SPH engineering has been around since 2013. we’re based in Riga in Latvia and our four main business lines are egcs for flight planning then egcs Integrated Systems where we integrate various geological sensors together with drones and help you collect data with them and then we also do software for drone shows as well as do custom software uh as well as data processing which is under the Consulting and development project so we have Partners now all around the world as well as we are present in various different Industries but I think let’s maybe then move on to all these slides about egcs software so for those of you may be not familiar with your GCS this is how the interface looks like I’ll also show you the software in action in just a brief moment but yeah so here you can see um basically all the software is in 3D so here you can see this is simple for the Grand Tree Mission that has been planned over this area and actually one of the reasons why most people uh who use us choose to use this is the fact that we support attorney following as well as that we actually manage to solve these really complex tasks as far as flight landing goes so if you need to plan complex routes then the GCS is the tool to use in those cases so YG says for flight planning uh firstly it installs on either PC or Mac so everything is installed locally there’s no need to use a browser interface like in some other cases and there’s no need to plan the flights on a small tablet screen we also have a 3D interface uh so we have a whole 3D Globe Inside by default we are using srtm4 turn elevation data but you can also use your own custom map overlays and you can use your own custom digital elevation models or digital surface models um you can plan flights like I said according to the terrain following as well as if you know that you’ll be a you’ll be flying in places where there is no internet coverage you can also uh catch the maps for offline use um then it does support DJI as well as other manufacturers because uh for those of you who might not know that so actually GCS the full name of that is universal Ground Control software so we support DJI as well as other manufacturers so you can use for example art belt or PX4 based autopilots uh some of these if you are maybe from the US this would include the freefly Alta X drone actually now we’re also working on support for the Free Flight Astro drone but yeah basically any custom drone made on autopilot or PX4 platform is compatible with ugcs as well so it’s not only DJI although most of our customers about like 90 I’d say they are using vgi uh what’s also good is that you can create routes from KML or CSV files we have a specific tool set for uh flying with lighter instruments this is available in GCS uh expert and Enterprise licenses as well as the software architecture in the Enterprise license it’s modular so this means that you are able to deploy the main server running for example in the cloud like the I think you guys Improvement will also explain about how they are doing this as well as you have the ability to stream video when you are using egcs um I’d like to be clear out one common misconception that’s here so I know a lot of you if you are familiar with bgcs you might think that uh okay so you do the flight planning on the laptop which means you have to bring the laptop with you in the field so that’s not the case some it’s true that many Pilots do choose to take the laptop with them but in fact there are other Solutions so for example like I said you can keep the server in the cloud and then in the field you only need to have the tablet with you or the Drone smart controller and then you can connect to the server running in the cloud or alternatively actually now uh which brings me to my next point the release of bgcs 4.12 so in the new version actually we have added support for uh well the feature to export routes from ugcs into DJI pilot 2 in specific DJI format so these are kmz and or also wmpl files and so with this this actually means you can construct your routes in your GCS export DJI pilot 2 and like that you are able to not have to take the laptop with you in the field and even in case you need to make some modifications to the root you can do this from DJI pilot 2 as well so in the new version we have add the support for the mavic 3 Enterprise as well as DJI m30 this also includes the thermal versions of these drones uh but the note is that here uh the support is implemented using the root export DJI pilot 2. So currently you can’t yet connect these drones directly to GCS we are working on that because they’re based on the new SDK version from DJI so ability to connect them directly is also coming soon hopefully this year but for now you can already plan flights for mavic 3 Enterprise as well as DJI m30 drones and then export these flights export these five plans to DJI pilot 2 and then fly with these drones also implemented Corridor splitting as well as the ability to plan vertical scans by using the line spacing specifying it in meters rather than overlap so it’s also not that relevant for agriculture I suppose but also just some things I wanted to mention but for release notes of course are available on our site so and now moving on to GCS Enterprise um for those those of you may be not that familiar with uh our licenses Enterprise is the top license that we have and below that we have GCS Pro uh expert as well as the this Enterprise license um So Pro licenses for most applications if you just want to plan simple missions you don’t need to use leather and so on so so for simple missions you have the pro version expert version which is the next one this uh has the lighter Tools in addition to all the base tools and then the Enterprise is the full one so what you get here is you get modular architecture so in this case you can have the server running in the cloud or somewhere else and you can have piles from the field connect remotely to that so basically any software component you can choose where that component should run so for Enterprise installations this would be the way to go also this version does support live video streaming as well as video recording here you can also have up to 10 simultaneous drone connections as well as the aforementioned ladder tools from expertise are also of course available in the top license the Enterprise and plus you can have multiple SDK connections meaning that you can run run multiple apps in parallel which are also connected to the main server and yep so for more information of course you can always go to shop.gcs.com read the better licenses read about the features and of course we’re here to also answer any questions you might have uh about them so yeah I think maybe now let’s quickly jump into the flight funding demo part and where I’ll best explain to you how do you plan the flights in GCS how does that work and then yeah after that the guys from proof Minds will already take over so I’ll now stop the screen share just very briefly and then let’s switch on over to my screen with ugcs and then I’ll show you the flight planning part like I mentioned before if you have any questions please put them in the Q a section and the recording of the webinar will also be available later on YouTube for those of you who joined a bit later just so you know in case you missed some parts you will be able to access the video this will be sent to you after the webinar so I hope that now you should be able to see my GCS screen so uh first thing you might notice is that all of this interface is in 3D so this is currently running locally on my Mac so there’s um it does catch the maps from the internet but if you want to use it offline you can also do so so you can select certain map regions and then cache them for offline use but let’s get started with more simple things so as far as route planning goes we have what’s called missions and then within a single Mission you can have multiple routes so here you can see I already have one example so I have a photogram tree root blend in here and let’s say maybe we need to plan an additional route where maybe this could be actually as well another photography route or even a corridor scan although I suspect for agricultural probably let’s maybe stick with photogrammetry so to create a new route in the USS you just click here on the plus button then enter some name for the root so let’s maybe do let’s just do flight one something nice and simple then I’ll select the Drone for which you want to plan this flight and let’s click on OK so now here on the side we can choose the photogrammetry tool let’s choose what camera are we using in this case let’s maybe use the DJI B1 camera and then let’s go ahead and select area that we would like to scan so let’s select this area and then press enter to complete the figure we can also adjust the direction angle of the server lines and then in just a bit the flight will be fully calculated uh up yeah I need to now decrease the GSD just a bit because as you can see it does exit so basically based on what camera you’re using the flat altitude in the photogrammetry will be different so in this case I’ll just have to use a lower GSD value so this is 0.5 because I had number three in there and now let’s see if all works out usually for longer routes of course it does take a bit more time to calculate them because here it’s a multiple kilometer area and yeah so here you can see it has been calculated let’s see what else here this will be so this is 39 meters if you want to fly a bit higher we can maybe increase this just a bit incident will be recalculated and usually of course also the higher you fly the uh wider will be the spacing between the flight lines and so you can see that this route has already has been calculated over here we can now go ahead and actually also open up the elevation profile so here you can see the terrain elevation as well as the drone’s flat altitude all through the route so you can see total distance covered in this quite large route that I planned uh will be 116 kilometers so this is basically all of the flight lines combined you can see a total estimate duration Waypoint count as well as minimum and maximum altitudes here you can also actually adjust how well you want drone to follow the terrain so here you can see that actually in the middle the software has added these additional waypoints so the waypoints are added with a certain accuracy that is set here in the AGL tolerance parameter so you can see since this is set to 3 meters this means that typically the distance between the minimum or the Delta between the minimum and the maximum altitude that’s here should be about three meters in this case it is like so so you can see we have 79 and 82 meters in there so if I would for example uh increase this then less waypoints will be added in the middle but then again John wouldn’t follow the terrain as accurately and in the same way you can actually also decrease this if you want the Drone to follow the terrain more accurately so then going further um here in map layers you can see we we’re by default Now using Google satellite map and you can also use your own overlays in the software in this case I have already actually one overlay imported so let’s click here on Focus this was just a flight I recently did around our office near rig so zoom out and let’s go here so it’s actually also one of the things that is quite useful in software I think is that you can uh basically import your own uh Maps your own internal elevation models which do allow you to see a lot more detail compared to the standard standard Google Maps at least in most areas and uh yeah so basically using this you are able to plan your flights more accurately and be more sure that you are able to avoid any obstacles that might be in your way because you will be up you’re actually already able to detect them in the flight planning stage then moving on to Elevation so here as well you can see we have an elevation overlay that’s also imported um together with the terrain sorry with the map data so these are two separative files normally when you import map and elevation these are imported as geotif files into your GCS so um these are this will be like the top features uh to look for in the software uh one additional thing I want to mention is as far as connecting the drones so typically at least the GI drones they’re connected using our mobile app so it’s called the gcs4 DJI and it’s available on our website so basically it’s connect your DJI drone you install our app on your DJ smart controller and then you make sure that both the computer as well as the mobile app uh or mobile device are on the same network this isn’t the case when you’re planning the flights locally uh or of course if you want to if you’re using UCS Enterprise and you’re running the server in the cloud in those cases in the mobile app you simply specify what is the IP address of the server that you want to connect to and then the connection is established as well so that’s basically the idea how you can connect the software uh how you can connect your drones to egcs and then once you have that done you can already upload the route to the Drone uh press on auto mode and then the Drone will automatically take off and fly throughout the mission uh twitch of the mission segments also you can add various actions for example you can see here for this for the Grand Tree root I have added the uh set camera by distance action this is the default one that’s automatically added and then if you want for example the drones camera to automatically look downwards during the flight you can also add the set camera attitude action and here specify the Tilt to be 90 degrees downwards foreign yes so can I upload my own DSM DTM file to be used instead of generic map um yep so that’s true the base Maps the base map elevation oftentimes especially if you’re flying in areas with um with quite steep elevations these can have a high can have quite low Precision so yeah this is what I was showing so in here if you go to map layers here under elevation you can add your own turn elevation sources so this can be either from the jio server or you can actually also use external sources but yeah most people just choose to add their own Maps here into the jio server so you can add for example for example let’s call this uh just map and you can see so the icon is currently empty so there’s no map Source available but you can here click on upload and then choose your own geotif file so just to choose file with DOT Tiff extension and will be uploaded and when you have the elevation overlay uploaded then actually all the flights you plan with there and following will be planned according to the uh new digital terrain model or digital surface model that you have uploaded into egcs so I hope that answers your question uh yeah where was I yeah so here basically you can add different actions to the uh Mission segments so here you can see I have now also added the uh change camera attitude and then uh one thing I want to show additionally is if you for example want to now export this to let’s say uh the jet Polo 2 app like I was saying we have this new feature so then to do that you just need to click here on parameters and then go to export so then this new export window which was added in the GCS 4.12 will open up and then you can simply select to export this to DJI pilot 2 and then this will export your route as a kmz file and then this kmz file can simply be transferred over to the internal storage of your smart controller and uh yeah then you can simply import it into DJI pilot too upload it to the Drone and fly alternatively if you’re using drones such as the m300 which by the way also supports the import feature uh through DJI pilot 2. for the m300 you can connect it directly to egcs so for that drone uh one alternative if you don’t want to have the laptop with you in the field is you can actually simply synchronize the routes to our GCS mobile app that runs that’s running on Smart controller and then you’ll be able to access all the routes in the field select them and upload them automatically um so see what other questions are there yeah so one is uh do we have support for uh spraying drones too this depends on the specific spring drones which you mean your GCS can work with spring drones and but most of these would be have to be based on autopilot or PX4 at least I think with most spring drones this is the case many of you probably might know DJI address drone but with agra’s it’s unfortunately not supported in dji’s SDK so if DJI were to add support for the Drone in the SDK then we would be able to support that but for now unfortunately since it’s not in the SDK we can’t support the aggress Drone but other spring drones based on autopilot or PX4 we can support uh yeah and then I see another question from Carlos about planning and uploading uh flight shoot if you are offline in the field so this I also actually want to show you guys if you are offline then first thing is that you won’t have access to the map and to the elevation unless you have imported your own so to do that we have a specific section here that’s called offline maps and so with the offline maps feature you can actually choose uh map segments which you want to load for offline use so this will allow you to catch large map segments up to 100 square kilometers um locally to your computer and so then when you have that then you are able to actually fly when you are offline and by the way one thing is that uh if you’re doing the root export then all the elevation data is saved in there so it’s basically exporting as a missile altitude um although if you export the app for DJI pilot 2 then it’s exporting uh relative to the ground under the first Waypoint so in that case make sure that the Drone starts from the same altitude as the altitude of the first Waypoint so ideally it should start from where the first weapon is or the same altitude but coming back here to offline maps you can press here on ADD and then you can simply double click on the map somewhere to select what points should be in your map so for example you can do like that if you maybe want to adjust a bit more you can of course always select additional points move them around and basically select any custom area that you wish next you can enter the name so for example let’s call this region one and then you can choose what map should be cached for offline use as well as what elevation once you have selected all of this then you can click here on Create and then you’ll see that now this map region is being cached from the internet to your local Geographic server and this will basically allow you to fly this even in case when you will not have any internet connectivity um okay I’ll see another question about obstacle avoidance um there’s Sudden Change uh is it so dependent on what the type of drone is used uh yeah so keep in mind here that as far as avoiding obstacles it does depend on what sensors the Drone has and how capable the Drone is of avoiding obstacles actually I answered this question today to another user on our UCS Facebook group so by the way if you’re not yet there I suggest you check out our GSS user Facebook group because it has like a ton of interesting information for you so if you’re not yet there you can go talk to other GCS drone pilots and see what’s up uh but yeah about obstacle avoidance I would actually say that the primary thing you’d have to focus on is the flight planning itself and making sure that there are no obstacles there so one thing would be um maybe creating a map first then from higher altitude and then planning the flight according to that if you suspect there might be some obstacles in the way also of course uh Good Pilot skills are quite important so in that case make sure you’re always monitoring the fpv camera if your drone is equipped with one and if you see any obstacle uh that’s getting a bit too close to the Drone take our manual control that’s always of course safer um and I think the obstacle detection should only serve as a last resort if all else fails then you just you know cross fingers and hope that the Drone will be able to stop in time but again this depends on the speed of the Drone plus one thing is that obstacle detection systems uh depending on what kind of sensors are used also are not 100 reliable so nothing is 100 uh in life of course but uh yeah so in general uh rely on your own pilot skills rely on the fact that you can you know what where Jones gonna be flying what things might there be in the way and yeah then of course you still have the obstacle detection systems just in case but yeah I think um I have already been talking for quite a while now so I think maybe now let’s uh any questions you might have about the GCS uh please do leave them in the Q a so we will have a q a section after the uh uh after approvement guys also talk about their topic specifically for agriculture so if you have any questions about your GCS I will also be able to either answer this in text or answer this live but I think now I’ll pass the torch onto the guys from uh proof minder so yep uh thank you for uh listening to me and yeah so now guys the floor is yours thank you thank you very much so let me let me take the worm and I’ll share my screen okay you see what I see yeah we can see the screen all right thank you very much okay so very quickly about us so we are we are startup we found it ourselves um um two years ago beginning of 2011 and instead a lot of things happened um we got a lot of recognition on the uh from from different um accelerators from different um uh innovation of Arts we collected and uh we are a team of 12 people um today um what is more important than me also have um a lot of passion for drones and to use that technology for for agriculture so let me let me talk about that okay so what we planned uh for today is to um give you an Insight on why it’s a it’s a great thing to use uh um drones in agriculture and why is it important and why we approach that that subject um we’re gonna review an Insight that how we actually doing our work for uh for customers give you an insight to our use places and if you are the more of the platform and then I’m going to hand over to Gabor my colleague who is um uh leading our field operations and who’s going to talk about our experiences doing a large long flights with ugcs on the field and I’ll share a little bit of our secrets and learnings from that all right so why is it important to see the the details and why we invested into the Sleep level learning Leaf flower farming technology so you probably also sense that the agriculture is under pressure you everyone knows that knows about climate change everyone knows about the um the growing number of people on on Affinity planet um but you probably don’t know that also the The Regulators pushes this um segment a lot to be more economical to use less chemicals to take out land from extensive agriculture and could be more bio and organic and these kind of regulations are pushed on on the farmers and we have to comply with these things uh what what is more important probably is that everyone of course just wants to eat healthier better food every day you and me are our kids we all want to just um benefit from technology and and and indeed healthier and better food so so to to be able to tackle with these challenges that there are a lot of foregrinalists on the field who are trying to solve this this equation of of of pressures and and the way that they they do it is that they go to their land they go their craft or from every day they want to see the leaves they want to see how the crops are growing um they want to feel and sense what is happening on the field what needs to be done um what what is important is that they need to do it on quite a big land and that’s not it’s not possible by just walking around and checking everything and trying to make an understanding of what’s happening in one corner of my field um what are the infections all the the plants are actually growing there what they need sometimes they they control hundreds and thousands of hectares and they need to understand the situation daily and just decide the what’s the best possible best action okay so the way how we can um help the agronomist is to add them to make better decisions so they can that can cultivate healthier um food they can create more food from the same amount of land with Nets chemical less chemicals so so for that they they need to shift today’s decision making that the unit of decision making from thinking in a whole field or a whole plot and they they need to focus on what’s happening with each of the plants so they can give every parent to the right care what they actually need and just that much of chemicals that much of uh or fertilizer that this plant is needs at that time so this is what we made possible with proof mind there um what we did is that we we combined the trade Festival Technologies and Camera Technologies with the power of AI um and Computing and we put a lot of engineering together to build a platform which is able to process very high resolution uh images at the lot at the large scale so the image is what we capture withdrawals we can analyze with AI we can do it in Biggs because otherwise like dozens of hectares daily and we can extract the knowledge and we can hand it over to the algorithmiest so that can they can use it they can decide what to do so basically the result of this is that they can see um a yield increase they can see uh that they can decrease the um the usage of chemicals and the input materials and they can see basically a return of the investment and that’s that what drives the economy and network drives the green change as well um as an audition for this um we we did that calculation um beginning of this year uh working with one of the partners um using by using our technology in hybrid Quorum quality control to um to apply or what we have um during the season results in a cargo ship of extra food and a lot of extra revenue for performers actually and that’s just uh that’s just one customer and hybrid corn production is is just one use case um we um multiple use cases we know only concentrated on on on that that segment reproduction is sorry seed production is is very important for us but we also um use that technology your own technology and AI technology for for other things it can be used for the interaction it can be used for yield assessment it can be used for to understand the status of the vegetation can be used to assess different kind of Damage Done by Wildlife by insects by uh weather conditions like like wind and rain and um basically um these use cases build the platform what we have and if uh if these use cases are not enough then we can easily create new use cases and that’s happening well for these days we are just started to um years ago so we’re still building up the capabilities of our platform and we um we created a workflow which makes it possible to create a new use case um just in a few weeks so from identifying the problem which could be a new new new read in a new crop vegetation which all of the customers needs to be tagged then we go there with drones or actually or a pile of drone pilot Partners grow there to capture the images between the AI to to recognize and measure what’s uh what’s on the pictures uh reveal the algorithm and we um make it ready for the customers to use in in a couple of weeks we can we can publish it on in our platform and then they can see where that lead is going and what is the what is the status all right so let me go into more details and give you um a couple of use cases which we already have uh which we already um give to our customers this season and which we um are going to uh give to our customers in the next season so one of the use cases is uh missed testing detection the the Tesla is this flower part over the top of the core and that’s what generates the problem basically um that is very important uh in hybrid form that we removed that part uh in time from uh from the from top of the of the of the male uh so hybrid spawn is is uh has a lot of importance in in the food um chain because that’s what um gives the the highest yield uh and one is very important uh source of food and um you’ll probably also know that in in Europe um well we don’t we don’t do GMO so the only way to come up with better and better um corn seed or hybrids is to cross pollinate corn and to create new hybrids um for that basically what um the agronomists do is that they they saw two kind of corn um on on the same field um if I just want to simplify it then one row of female porn and there there is another row of uh of the male corn and the female and a male um the technology of um to create hybrid requires that this tassel the stock part of the males is removed in time so um sorry from the females is removed in in time so the males can pollinate the females okay and uh that requires a very big Precision actually 99.7 of these tassels needs to be removed um that’s a big challenge actually because um because there is a lot of field um where this uh process needs to be applied just just in Hungary um where we live there are 30 000 hectares of hybrid world and um there are 100 000 um corn crops on a hectare so a lot of a lot of work which is usually done um in a combining machines and manual work um and the value what we what our solution provides here is that we can fly over the fields um detect um the vessels and uh tell the agronomists where are the left left ones and how can we um where do I need to um go and remove them okay uh this is how it looks like um these are the images uh or drones um the Drone stake um you can see that it’s it’s very high resolution um we use less than 0.5 um millimeter per pixel and GSD to be able to recognize the vessels because the Teslas actually hide between the leaves they need to be removed at the very early stage so here are all these images you can see that these are the vessels in between those red squares and uh on on the top of the image or top of the screen you can see what the AI sees basically how the AI is recognizing these features on the images and giving the information to um to the farmers so that’s that’s one use case um the other use case which um I bring you um today is drug V detection so Rod read is is a very um bad um we um in our region it’s not only bad for um the registration but it’s also a huge problem because because it’s Poland is causing a lot of allergy I don’t know if you you have it in your country um it’s it’s a big problem where we live and also the government regulates the farmers to remove that field weed um so we can use that technology on the same technology to detect um where the weed is growing and where um the plants are on the field um we had this um pilot with cortiva agroscience this year when we um use their technology to detect this rock weed in sunflower and give an assessment where do they need to spray um and killed and killed a weed or to apply um other Technologies to to remove the infection okay so uh sorry Norbert uh just one question to see that we have um so Joseph is asking so what kind of camera are you using uh do you like use uh simply an RGB camera or are using a multi-spectral camera right so uh we need very high resolution and we need to see um basically all the features of the plants to be able to apply our algorithms so we use RGB cameras because of resolution so the resolution of multiple chromosas Unfortunately they are not there yet where we need to need to have them all right well thank you thank you very much okay so um let me give you an Insight how we use uh ugcas and um the Huawei shows um the Enterprise version of of this platform so uh what we do has quite a lot of special needs um I think that we what we what we do um with the girls not very few companies do actually and these Special Needs had to be supported by by platform that um makes it make this whole thing possible from from the data collection process um first of all um we have very rigid settings we what we when we want Pilots to to capture the the data then then we we give one a lot of settings and details how they should um they should fly whatever elevation what camera angle without all this use the camera to face down sometimes we use a pitched camera angle um we have to make sure that we capture everything on the land and we don’t miss a couple of meters when we design the flight so we have we needed something which um creates this in a way that the pilots doesn’t have to um sell everything themselves we can create the set the centrally um there is less rooms for errors sometimes we need to complete our missions in a couple of days so there is no um room to to miss That Type window when you can measure the vegetation and so we really need just one shot and we we need to capture the data right um we needed a lot of special setting so which which um um ugcs gives us to be able to to set the every barometer basically or of the flight and we needed the API that we can um publish all these things to the software without lots of manual work because we we designed the flights centrally and you just want the Drone Pilots to complete the flights on the field the other thing is that we use very high resolution um that requires flying below um so we usually fly between 10 and and 50 meters and that’s uh has to be supported by by the platform we use um carrying follow is a critical feature because sometimes we just see like 5-10 meters of of elevation change and we need the same quality of data of the same resolution from from every piece of of land and as I said we have to be sure that we don’t miss um and we capture everything from from a field and the third thing is that we we have a global solution so what we provide is working everywhere on this planet we have customers or from uh from from different continents we have to have something which works everywhere which provides support to um to different drones uh which has elevation data everywhere which is easy to set up because we have neon board Pilots to the complete or missions in different countries and we want them to be able to to use our technology without too much hassle um they don’t need to bring too many things to the field like they don’t need a notebook they don’t need to measure things they just go there they um connect the Drone to their top left or mobile and they are able to complete the data capturing okay and we also only we also need these Enterprise features a lot that that we are able to oversee what’s happening from a from a contour Center we have how many Pilots are flying where are they with the missions um and these kind of Enterprise features like data security and that we have logs from uh from the from the side flights that we can later analyze and so on foreign plan um basically so what happening is that the customer goes to comes to us either through the um to the software or or to a phone call and asking us to to run a mission give me a stand counting from this and that field so our start is that we we need a flight Contour uh for for the field this is something either the customer gives to us or or we created for them based on uh high quality um and fresh images um and that’s what uh the basically gives the borders of the mission um we also um optimize the the flight uh to the use case and the Drone which are going to use for the five mission we the world support everyday commercial drones mavic and Phantom series and we also have support for the expensive Enterprise drones which can capture much more data once so it’s it’s a combination of possibilities and need um what we do is that we generate segments for the flights which are achievable with uh with one battery so what that means is that the Dom pilot doesn’t have to change it doesn’t have to take care about the um where to restart the mission from and this is also makes possible that there are multiple of drone Pilots working on the same data collection mission well once we split up the um the the mission into smaller chunks then we upload it uh to ugcs um that’s also an automated task we also do some manual checks to make sure that we are not crossing any airspace and there are no power lines and these kind of things and then we send a mission to the Dual pilot and we also provide them an on-called support so they can anytime call to a contra Center and just say that okay an issue here um can you please change the flight plan and it’s done centrally um and they just get the get the new flight uh plan on their mobile in a couple of minutes or even less all right so let me um give you a demo how how it looks like um in real life in our platform so let me just quickly stop the share and change to um the browser um if you have any questions mean by them maybe this is the right time to answer the stuff that you see any any questions it should be answer now uh currently there are no open questions in the Q a so I think we can proceed okay thank you do you see um the application which I’m sharing yeah we can see it okay cool okay so what you um see here is basically uh the proof finder platform it’s uh it’s a web uh it’s a web tool um you can access it from anywhere um what you see is the map screen which is basically the result scheme so this is what the farmer sees um we assess their vegetation okay what I would like to show you today is a stamp counting use case for commercial Corp which is about County how many how many cores emerged after they were planted okay so this is our field which we um which we want to uh want to stand count um let me just give you the Contour so that’s actually this is 45 hectares support a big land um well this is the Contour what we get from the customer and this is how we split it up for for segments um this has been split up to 30 smaller chunks so each of the squares are basically roughly 1.5 1.6 um hectares and uh that is achievable to fly within like 60 minutes with the sex with the settings we use with the front of four drone and uh that means that they don’t need to change the battery between um just between these these slides not within within the flight so the pilots can just upload and around segment zero segment one segment two we just uh change the battery in between the segments okay um let me just pop up one of the segments to show you um how the um how the data actually um it seems that the system just timed out while I was presenting just let me let me log in again no problem it’s called the demo effect always happens it’s happening a lot all right then okay it’s coming on yeah so let me just um show you um all the data looks like okay now we capture the with the dogs okay so let me just uh select one of the segments um and they’ll show you the process data like this one so once the pilots are completing the mission they they send us the the data they upload it to um to the system and they then we are going to build an ortho Mosaic uh for standard County we don’t always create a lower thermostat in our system as well as possible but for stamp routing we we do um create a portable site you can see that this is a very high resolution image so you can see that this is a tractor wheel it’s probably like 40 40 centimeters from side to side so um these are the line of corns they are very small like five six centimeters just four or five leagues that’s the ideal State when you should uh Around The Stance Counting what’s what’s happening is that our AEI algorithm is looking into the image and uh actually counting each and every piece of corn that is visible on the image let me just um scroll up here and show you that how it looks like when there is a wildlife damage or a Corp field so what what is what is happening is that Wars just go on the field and they like to eat the the core seeds that looks like this and you can see that uh when when that’s that’s the that’s the part of the damage um the red dots are um the corn itself and you can just extract a lot of um information uh from this and as an agronomist you can use this to turn to the uh to the authorities have asked for compensation because of wildlife damage you can you can see if your equipment the doctor the the sewing machine they they work properly you can assess what’s the different reasons why you um don’t have um the amount of corn which you wanted to have okay we also process this information and and present it on a on a on a map so um that is easier to understand so um we calculate um the average number of corn plants on on the field and we provide a heat map which is where the green is darker that’s where you have more corn but it’s lighter and you don’t have enough corn there and you can compare it with actually um if you did differentiated sewing um that’s a practice which is more and more common in agriculture to put more seeds where you feel the stronger and put less seeds into parts of the field when when you cannot expect that that much growth because of it doesn’t have enough things to to make your corn grow fast then you can even compare the results so as you can see in some parts of of the image like here it’s darker it meets uh with the with the with the sewing Zone with some parts like here it doesn’t lead with the sewing sewing Maps so you don’t see you can see that somehow this part of the field couldn’t even help the corn grow or there was some solid problem okay so this is how it how it looks like everything what we measure is calculated so it’s a it’s a map um you can put everything on our um on on the map so basically we know the coordinates of each and every corn on the field and then we can even follow the the development of the plant to the whole season why this all right so let me switch back to the presentation and hand over to Gabor to talk about our experiences on the field thank you very much can you hear me okay first of all yeah yeah okay for you so thanks um so I will talk about the Practical usage of of the software and the best practices that we gathered during the seasons that we worked with the gugcs software and also working in the agricultural field with drones so can you go to the next live please so um I would like to give you a couple of practical tips hints how to use the drones and how to use the softwares and the first slide is just before leaving home because it’s really easy to to forget something and then you travel a couple hundred kilometers to do a job and then you find out that that you missed some some critical part of your mission and then you have to travel back so um we suggest you to check the equipment before you leave your house so anything that’s strange on your drone or your batteries that should should be a warning sign for example the cracks on the whole Hull of the Drone or if you have damaged battery is or some path batteries that you shouldn’t bring with yourself or if your cables are a little bit a little bit damaged that you connect your drone and your your remote controller you should replace them before you leave and it’s really useful to check the battery percentages the battery levels before you go because um it’s it’s the best if you finish the charging before you leave because it can drop several percentages overnight and then you might need to to charge those batteries on the field which might not be easy to do um John piles tend to forget to check the key the KP index and the weather forecast before they leave because um especially this summer we had the case I think it was in July when we had a very high solar activity and I think sometime it went up the KP index went up to six and seven uh points during the summer and we faced a little bit of GPS issues um where the GPS was not that exact so we had a little bit of problems with the flying so it’s always best to check it before you leave and also the weather forecast is important because the Phantom Force Factory wind tolerance or at least what they say in the details is uh 10 meters per second of per seconds um maximum so if you are facing high wind it can it means that maybe you are not able to finish your your mission or you have to stop for some time and then you can lose a few hours or even a few days of work um you always have to check if you pack sufficient batteries with ugcs software Robert or Norbert already showed that we can split the missions into small segments and then it means that we can plan how many batteries do we need in a in the best case scenario so if we are working with a large field and then use when we split it up for 30 different segments then it will mean we should bring at least that amount of batteries but we are always trying to to plan more than that because we always face some issues we are not um planning for and then we always over plan with the battery numbers we always have to bring more than you need our ex our experience is that for Phantom 4 drones if you have eight batteries and the multi-charger it can which can um charge three batteries in parallel that uh sufficient for a continuous flight um for the whole day but also you need a generator with yourself and that’s for a phantom 4 drone it’s uh 650 bets um Power at least and it can charge four batteries and your remote control at the same time if you have an Enterprise level drawn for example a mattress m300 then you mean we’ll need a larger generator more than one kilowatt of of power and then the best tip I think from this slide is to pack extra pieces of other consumables which I mean is the propellers the the SD card the cables and so on because it’s it’s really a key part of your mission it’s a small thing like an SD card but if you have just one and maybe you lose it on the field in the corn field or or during your trip or something is is not okay with the card then you can travel back home and then you have to or even in this next town you have to drive in and buy another one and you can lose some time the next slide please so that was about planning to leave your your home and then I will talk about the mission site how to do things at the mission site so when you are flying at the first time at the spot at a certain field it’s it’s the best practice to to look around the the borders of the field uh for um maybe branches that can be um um inside your flight plans maybe you could check the Google Maps and it looks okay but there was a storm a few days ago and there is a dry branch which is now broken and it’s it’s on the way of your drone and it can cause some problems sometimes we are facing the issue that we are planning the missions and the farmers uh forgetting to tell us that there is a huge irrigation system operating on the field and if it’s a GPS um system or it it includes a GPS system it’s an automated irrigation system it can cause some trouble with your drone so we Face the issue when it was just they switched on the irrigation system and suddenly the Drone lost all the connection with the with the controller and it started to come back because the the interference of the GPS system of the of the irrigation system was was too strong or sometimes they just forget to tell us that there are some certain workers um on the field and we have to be careful when flying above them and we need to to calculate that we need to switch maybe flight plans to to avoid flying above the workers and so on if you can have a spotter video and you can send that person out and check for for branches or obstacles I think this is the best way to to do this we always suggest to check and adjust your return to home altitude all the time because sometimes it’s just enough to say okay 20 30 meters return to home attitude is more than enough because there are no obstacles but you forget about it you go to the next site you are in a in a rush you forget about it and there is uh um maybe a forest there are some buildings in the neighborhood and then your drone will be stopped because of the of the return to home altitude is not sufficient or it’s it’s in some ways something is in the way to come back also check your camera settings according to the current light conditions because sometimes if you push put the auto button it’s it’s not the best results so we usually adjust the camera settings um every time if we go to a new field then we have some sunny weather we always check the settings and adjust it manually because of the the special um mobile phone thing so for example we use our mobile phones sometimes to to have the the Drone to put it on the drones radio um sorry remote controls and we are using it as also as a hotspot but sometimes if you are receiving a call the the Wi-Fi connection is is stopped at least it’s happening on my phone so what we do is we always bring a little mobile device with us a separate hotspot and we start it immediately when we we set up Gap camp at the at the site so we can have uh uninterrupted Wi-Fi connection even if you receive a call or if something is happening there and it’s the best practice to check the Veen velocity at the site because you can see it in the forecast applications and in the maybe in the TV but it’s the best if you go to the site and check it for yourself at the local place the next slide please during the day when we are working um we are suggesting you to to save the the data from your SD card from time to time um with the new SD cards 128 gigabytes or even more it’s easy to to forget about it because you can you can handle a whole mission without doing any saving because the the capability of the SD card allows you to do that but something can happen you can you can lose the data and it’s it’s always best to say okay you wait an hour or you work an hour and then you save the data from your SD card while you are doing that and you are copying the files to your to your laptop you can let your drone rest a little bit you can you can leave it out in the open um let the wind cool it down a little bit you can always check the props and the the whole and for damages you can you can always manually or visually check your drone if something is out of the ordinary and you can use this time for these kind of things but you can also check your photos which is I think really important because if you create a few thousand photos and you only find out at the end of the day that your images are blurred or there were some issues with your camera angles then then you lost the whole days of work but if you are doing some SD card copying then in the meantime you just randomly check in the folders and then you quickly go through some of the pictures even you can upload to the system that we are using and then we can already start processing and after a few minutes the process can happen and then we can see some results and we can say okay let’s go ahead or we need to change something uh we suggest you to only fly with fully charged batteries because we found out that uh if we have batteries if we start the mission with the battery which is only let’s say 90 to 91 percent charged we always face the issue that it was that few percent that was missing to finish some some flight routes so it’s really really annoying when you are missing only the last five to ten pictures of a mission and you have to bring the Drone back have a new battery put it back and then finish the mission at uh with another battery so if you fully charge your batteries and start the mission with those things you can avoid these these mistakes um it’s um our experience is that with the Phantom Pro drones you can cover around 35 to 40 hectares within a day using this 0.5 GSD data and but this is the maximum what you can say if everything goes well without any stress and without any rush because if you want to to get more land covered maybe you will be a little bit too stretched with your resources I need your time and you will start doing making mistakes and you can end up um maybe with more mistakes and you can have a problem at the end of the day so this is our best practice to say don’t plan more than 35 to 40 hectares per day with the ugcs software it is really a good feature that you can quickly recalculate your missions your flight plans even from a remote office so let’s say I’m working on the field and then I find that the irrigation system just started to work and we were not aware of this in the previous days so I can either do it myself on my laptop at the car at the site or I can and call Norbert and then tell him the situation and he can quite easily in a few seconds he can recalculate the plan I can use my my remote controller to to download the new flight Maps again even if I’m 200 300 kilometers away from him and then in in a matter of minutes we solve this issue so I think this is always a good thing to have a supporting partner maybe in an office because in the field sometimes you’re not able to see the screens or you don’t have time simply to recalculate these things but you can do this with ugcs it’s always possible to do it remotely and then have a fresh flight plan and rerun it next slide please so the best practices in general um everything will be um really really hot in the summer everything will be uh um maybe shutting down so for example tablets and phones they can they tend to overheat in the summer we suggest you to remove your your covers from your tablets or from your phones your your protective covers because it just makes everything worse and the problem with the drones and the batteries is that the drones can handle the heat quite okay but the batteries you cannot charge them until they cool down so you have to wait a couple of minutes or even sometimes 15-20 minutes if it’s the hot summer day that they cool down because you are not able to start charging before they cool down so we sometimes just jump in the car and then start the AC and blow the cold air to the to the batteries to let them cool down quickly but you have to make it um you have to plan for this when you are making a plan on your timings um unfortunately the screen light or the power of the screen lights are not sufficient on the field so tablets phones you are not able to see them clearly on the field so use Shades whenever it’s possible you can get this from from drone shops and everything it’s better if you can you can cover them and as I said earlier if you are doing some some check on your drones or if you are copying files to your laptop let the equipment rest for a few minutes it’s just just a matter of minutes really but it can help sometimes we Face the issue that the Phantoms um sensors were a little bit too hot they were overheated and they sent some false data but if you let them to to cool down a little bit we had some some um we we didn’t have these problems anymore and um one last thing that ugc has this very cool feature that you can track multiple drones at the same time so we had a large field covered with four drones at the same time and we could see them all at the same laptop and if they if two drones for example fly too close to each other you get the system message of warning sound and a system message that there is a collision error there is a collision warning um ahead and then you can even if your drone Pilots are not paying attention you can always warn them and they will be always worn by the system that something is not okay and it’s really a cool feature that you can track these drones and even the percentages of their batteries the flight attitude you can see everything and I don’t think there is other softwares that can have this feature built in I think that was all from my end thank you thank you thank you very much Gabor I think um you can sense from from what cardboard said that there are quite a lot of things to take care about when you when you’re on the field um enough for a pilot to to do um I think planning the fight should be should be not part of the things uh the pilots are doing on the field and this is why we love to um plan our flights ahead um on and use the the Enterprise setup to publish the the fly pens to to the pilots that’s one thing the other thing is that probably you also see from what um Gabor said is that for agriculture there are a lot of land to to do um and to fly over especially if you won’t have any resolution images and uh you really want to maximize the time when your drone is flying and covering covering land the other mentions that we we can cover a bit smaller drones um certifies for the stocks per day that is basically eight hours of effective flight time per draw um with bigger drones it’s even more important that that they are flying that they are not seeing on the ground while you’re just changing settings and trying to figure out what to do and where to find because because that’s just expensive for the Drone Pilots to to um to spend time that with unnecessary settings and I mean what this software does is really a great help in that as well yep thank you uh guys for the presentation and I think now I’ll just quickly share uh my screen and I think we can probably actually move into the uh q a section uh so see there are some questions so let’s when we get started with that so you can see um so the first one is uh what specifications of a PC are required to process such high quality Ortho Mosaic data right so this one so it’s uh it’s our system takes care about the orthomosaic uh creation um it’s it’s totally on our end uh we use our Cloud infrastructure uh for that it’s a very complex process and it’s very indeed it’s very compute intensive so we use a cluster of computers to build these images very fast it’s not possible on a desktop at all yeah I suppose everything is done by remote computer because that’s the uh the answer yeah that okay so I’ll mark this one as answered uh next one is from uh another one of our uh listeners Watchers so this is about so what in which plants other than corn can you get clear results and what problems can you detect yeah so we can provide um we have algorithms for stand counting corn um sunflower uh be beetroot sugar beet for sure and we can create any other vegetation where the the plants are actually can be distinguished uh on on an image um from each other basically so we can directly count trees count animals count um hay bales on a field everything which you can count on your yourself we can we can automate that process so if you have any uh idea where to what to count then just come to us um we have a part partnership program for um for New Year’s cases and we can get it implemented very fast um that’s one thing uh we are able to measure a surface area of different kind of weeds um we have a vegetation index calculation are the the usual ones to um you have in other software and we have a damage assessment algorithms for uh for wind damage for wildlife damage and for a water logging yep okay uh so this answers uh the question as well uh other one I think maybe I can try to answer this is from Andrew um if there are any abrupt changes in elevation uh are you using a rangefinder to ensure altitude consistency uh so basically by default when you’re flying it’s understanding like your fight altitude and these cases are about like 10 15 meters so I think in those cases should be sufficient with your GCS ability to follow the terrain however I don’t think I also wanted to mention is that actually uh yeah here this pH engineering we also offer uh Twitter and following kits so if you need to follow the terrain quite closely um with a very slow I would sort of with a very low uh margin for error then you can actually use a real-time uh data from an alternator so if you go to integrated.ugcs.com or your best research GCS integrated then also you’ll be able to see uh the system that we offer for a large DJI drones so m300 m600 and M200 series as well as custom art belt and PX4 based drones so it has the rangefinder and ability to follow the terrain with tutor and following so let’s mark this one as well uh then about the uh Phantom 4 Pro that you’re flying uh what’s the maximum GSD that you have achieved with your drone if you can we mentioned that I’m not sure that what’s the maximum here is the the highest or the lowest well I can I can tell you the the range so um some of the use cases but we really really have to see um like insect damage which is very small then we go down to 0.3 millimeter per pixel the upper scale is whatever the low allow us to to take so like it’s like two two and a half centimeter per pixel or something yeah well well I’m assuming in this case it’s probably meant the the minimum uh GSD so basically what’s the highest amount of detail that you can see yeah so we can safely fly at eight meters um constantly and we have very very good experiences with the elevation data um the software has it’s it gives us the possibility to fly very low okay so now the next one would be uh for another one of our Watchers so in case of ragweed they also deliver a map for this sprayer absolutely yes thank you for this question I totally forgot to to mention this but you can actually export any of the heat Maps we we have and then you can you can use that uh model to with um with your sprayer drone or with the classic spray tractor um any kind of format which which you can imagine is exportable from from uh from the software so like PML shape file garages and everything okay so I think that answers also that and then basically the last question that we that we currently have is uh have you tried this on uh commercial potato production cities for uh in season nitrogen and yield prediction well not yet potato is on our radar for next year if you have if you have a use case then come to our website contact us and we’re happy to happy to take that prioritize on our list yep okay and so then uh I think as far as the questions go then that was it uh one thing I also wanted to mention here kind of towards the end is if you want to learn more about the GCS uh then you can visit uh gcs.com or visit our shop so this would be shop.gcs.com so let’s quickly maybe share uh the screen there with you so if you go here then uh you can actually see what licenses we offer and what can you get if you just want to maybe try GCS first then you can go here into subscriptions and then we also offer a 21 day trial for which you can apply and then within 24 hours normally we also send you the trial code but if you just want maybe for example play around with flight planning you can simply go to gcs.com then go to support downloads and you can actually download the software and use it even without any activation key you won’t be able to use it on a real drone but if you just want to play around with planning see how it is then you can actually also download this at any time and try it out so there’s actually now one more um I’m not sure if it’s a question but yes from Andrew uh so when you export your heat map to a conventional sprayer uh is it plant by plant if you understand the question yeah um it doesn’t make sense to to spray um plant by plant um theoretically it’s possible but we used to adjust the heat map um to the working width of the sprayer so for like a spring drone it’s like eight to ten meters usually so you you can export that that resolution um for your for your leads yeah and I just uh want to set just the same to come to our website there is a section for their own Pilots if you’re interested then um you can um you can come there you can register you can learn more about our services and then I suppose one final question B so regarding Wildlife damage yeah so if you can’t do Wildlife damage uh well I suppose a world of damage detection uh can that be done uh from higher altitude uh perhaps uh 200 or 50 50 feet or 80 meter altitude or more um and then John says that his constraints are a time no more than two batteries to cover uh quite a large area in that time so basically can you detect from a higher altitude I suppose that’s the essence of the question well so um if you um if you have the the camera which is able to capture um this uh eye resolution um then then it’s possible so um basically it’s depending on a little bit on the on the crop but for the for the usual crops we can go down to one millimeter per pixel GSD and with a with a P1 camera probably with the tele objective you can fly around 60 to 80 meters and still get um the data which which is suitable for this use case yep so uh I guess then probably the setup John you would have to look into would be the DJI m300 plus the P1 camera and then I suppose with that yes you can already detect features from still quite a uh high altitude well you know still retaining quite a high uh resolution of that um and yeah so would this question answered I think that actually probably concludes uh our webinar unless there are any other questions so I just want to thank you first uh to uh both of you guys for a technic partner it was for me also actually very interesting to learn more about how our software for for flight planning is used in agriculture and to learn more about what you do and also of course thank you to everybody uh listening and watching this webinar uh like I said the um the recording will be available later on on YouTube so we’ll send you that and yeah so you have our site you have uh proof minders site so you can go there check it out uh see more info and yeah so hope to see you in future webinars and let’s all stay in touch thank you very much .

Déroulement de la vidéo:

0 uh hi everybody thank you for joining
0 and I think we are ready to start
0 because I see it&;s already six o&;clock
0 at least our time and yeah so let&;s get
0 this uh show on the road so I&;ll maybe
0 briefly do some uh introductions and
0 then uh we can get going so yeah Norbert
0 and uh Gabor maybe turn on your video
0 just in case
0 so uh the webinar will be about as you
0 see here on the screen high-tech
0 agriculture with drones and what are the
0 current challenges as well as Solutions
0 uh so in the webinar it&;s uh first
0 conven me uh kristaps I&;m the product
0 owner of ugcs flight planning software
0 from SPH engineering and then we&;ll also
0 have uh Norbert and Gabor from uh proof
0 minder and they will talk a bit more in
0 this details on what it is that they do
0 and how do they use the drones in
0 agriculture specifically uh their part
0 is going to be the biggest part now in
0 this webinar because yeah hopefully it
0 will be also quite interesting for
0 everybody I saw the presentation already
0 and I think it&;s worth waiting for so uh
0 maybe initially just before we get into
0 that I&;ll just introduce about some
0 general webinar information so like I
0 said the agenda is that first I&;ll
0 explain a bit about the flag planning
0 Tools in ugcs
0 as well as what&;s new in the newest
0 version so a few days ago actually we
0 released GCS 4.12 version so I&;ll
0 briefly talk about what&;s in there and
0 as well I plan to show you the software
0 I&;m sure many of you have probably
0 already seen it but we also haven&;t I&;ll
0 just do a brief uh overview of uh what
0 can you expect when you start using GCS
0 for your flight planning and then we&;ll
0 move on to the benefits of using uavs in
0 the agricultural sector which will be
0 covered by the guys from proof minder
0 the approximate duration is
0 approximately one hour might be a bit
0 more than that plus the Q a section uh
0 so
0 um yeah everybody who&;s here for all the
0 attendees please if you have any
0 questions during the webinar uh please
0 make sure to put them in the Q a section
0 and not the chat because questions can
0 get lost in the chat
0 with all the questions we&;ll get in the
0 Q a I will try to answer them uh we&;ll
0 answer them either over a text because
0 we&;re also joined by uh valeries from
0 our support team here at uh SPH
0 engineering and as well uh questioning
0 it quite a lot is so will the recording
0 be available on YouTube so the answer is
0 yes so after the webinar or in case
0 maybe you can&;t really stay up until the
0 end you will be able to replay this
0 webinar and re-watch it on YouTube but
0 of course for asking questions and
0 interacting with us this is why we&;re
0 all gathered here to talk about drones
0 talk about agriculture so I think then
0 let&;s get started uh just briefly about
0 our company
0 so SPH engineering has been around since
0 2013. we&;re based in Riga in Latvia and
0 our four main business lines are egcs
0 for flight planning then egcs Integrated
0 Systems where we integrate various
0 geological sensors together with drones
0 and help you collect data with them and
0 then we also do software for drone shows
0 as well as do custom software uh as well
0 as data processing which is under the
0 Consulting and development project so we
0 have Partners now all around the world
0 as well as we are present in various
0 different Industries but I think let&;s
0 maybe then move on to all these slides
0 about egcs software
0 so for those of you may be not familiar
0 with your GCS this is how the interface
0 looks like I&;ll also show you the
0 software in action in just a brief
0 moment but yeah so here you can see
0 um basically all the software is in 3D
0 so here you can see this is simple for
0 the Grand Tree Mission that has been
0 planned over this area and actually one
0 of the reasons why most people uh who
0 use us choose to use this is the fact
0 that we support attorney following as
0 well as that we actually manage to solve
0 these really complex tasks as far as
0 flight landing goes so if you need to
0 plan complex routes then the GCS is the
0 tool to use in those cases
0 so YG says for flight planning uh
0 firstly it installs on either PC or Mac
0 so everything is installed locally
0 there&;s no need to use a browser
0 interface like in some other cases and
0 there&;s no need to plan the flights on a
0 small tablet screen
0 we also have a 3D interface uh so we
0 have a whole 3D Globe Inside by default
0 we are using srtm4 turn elevation data
0 but you can also use your own custom map
0 overlays and you can use your own custom
0 digital elevation models or digital
0 surface models
0 um you can plan flights like I said
0 according to the terrain following as
0 well as if you know that you&;ll be a
0 you&;ll be flying in places where there
0 is no internet coverage you can also uh
0 catch the maps for offline use
0 um then it does support DJI as well as
0 other manufacturers because uh for those
0 of you who might not know that so
0 actually GCS the full name of that is
0 universal Ground Control software so we
0 support DJI as well as other
0 manufacturers so you can use for example
0 art belt or PX4 based autopilots uh some
0 of these if you are maybe from the US
0 this would include the freefly Alta X
0 drone
0 actually now we&;re also working on
0 support for the Free Flight Astro drone
0 but yeah basically any custom drone made
0 on autopilot or PX4 platform is
0 compatible with ugcs as well so it&;s not
0 only DJI although most of our customers
0 about like 90 I&;d say they are using vgi
0 uh what&;s also good is that you can
0 create routes from KML or CSV files we
0 have a specific tool set for uh flying
0 with lighter instruments this is
0 available in GCS uh expert and
0 Enterprise licenses as well as the
0 software architecture in the Enterprise
0 license it&;s modular so this means that
0 you are able to deploy the main server
0 running for example in the cloud like
0 the I think you guys Improvement will
0 also explain about how they are doing
0 this as well as you have the ability to
0 stream video when you are using egcs
0 um I&;d like to be clear out one common
0 misconception that&;s here
0 so I know a lot of you if you are
0 familiar with bgcs you might think that
0 uh okay so you do the flight planning on
0 the laptop which means you have to bring
0 the laptop with you in the field so
0 that&;s not the case some it&;s true that
0 many Pilots do choose to take the laptop
0 with them but in fact there are other
0 Solutions so for example like I said you
0 can keep the server in the cloud and
0 then in the field you only need to have
0 the tablet with you or the Drone smart
0 controller and then you can connect to
0 the server running in the cloud or
0 alternatively actually now uh which
0 brings me to my next point the release
0 of bgcs 4.12
0 so in the new version actually we have
0 added support for uh well the feature to
0 export routes from ugcs into DJI pilot 2
0 in specific DJI format so these are kmz
0 and or also wmpl files and so with this
0 this actually means you can construct
0 your routes in your GCS export DJI pilot
0 2 and like that you are able to not have
0 to take the laptop with you in the field
0 and even in case you need to make some
0 modifications to the root you can do
0 this from DJI pilot 2 as well
0 so in the new version we have add the
0 support for the mavic 3 Enterprise as
0 well as DJI m30 this also includes the
0 thermal versions of these drones uh but
0 the note is that here uh the support is
0 implemented using the root export DJI
0 pilot 2. So currently you can&;t yet
0 connect these drones directly to GCS we
0 are working on that because they&;re
0 based on the new SDK version from DJI so
0 ability to connect them directly is also
0 coming soon hopefully this year but for
0 now you can already plan flights for
0 mavic 3 Enterprise as well as DJI m30
0 drones and then export these flights
0 export these five plans to DJI pilot 2
0 and then fly with these drones also
0 implemented Corridor splitting as well
0 as the ability to plan vertical scans by
0 using the line spacing specifying it in
0 meters rather than overlap so it&;s also
0 not that relevant for agriculture I
0 suppose but also just some things I
0 wanted to mention but for release notes
0 of course are available on our site
0 so and now moving on to GCS Enterprise
0 um for those those of you may be not
0 that familiar with uh our licenses
0 Enterprise is the top license that we
0 have and below that we have GCS Pro
0 uh expert as well as the this Enterprise
0 license
0 um So Pro licenses for most applications
0 if you just want to plan simple missions
0 you don&;t need to use leather and so on
0 so so for simple missions you have the
0 pro version expert version which is the
0 next one this uh has the lighter Tools
0 in addition to all the base tools and
0 then the Enterprise is the full one so
0 what you get here is you get modular
0 architecture so in this case you can
0 have the server running in the cloud or
0 somewhere else and you can have piles
0 from the field connect remotely to that
0 so basically any software component you
0 can choose where that component should
0 run so for Enterprise installations this
0 would be the way to go also this version
0 does support live video streaming as
0 well as video recording here you can
0 also have up to 10 simultaneous drone
0 connections as well as the
0 aforementioned ladder tools from
0 expertise are also of course available
0 in the top license the Enterprise and
0 plus you can have multiple SDK
0 connections meaning that you can run run
0 multiple apps in parallel which are also
0 connected to the main server
0 and yep so for more information of
0 course you can always go to shop.gcs.com
0 read the better licenses read about the
0 features and of course we&;re here to
0 also answer any questions you might have
0 uh about them
0 so yeah I think maybe now let&;s quickly
0 jump into the flight funding demo part
0 and where I&;ll best explain to you how
0 do you plan the flights in GCS how does
0 that work and then yeah after that the
0 guys from proof Minds will already take
0 over
0 so I&;ll now stop the screen share just
0 very briefly and then let&;s switch on
0 over to my screen with ugcs
0 and then I&;ll show you the flight
0 planning part
0 like I mentioned before if you have any
0 questions please put them in the Q a
0 section and the recording of the webinar
0 will also be available later on YouTube
0 for those of you who joined a bit later
0 just so you know in case you missed some
0 parts you will be able to access the
0 video this will be sent to you after the
0 webinar
0 so I hope that now you should be able to
0 see my GCS screen so uh first thing you
0 might notice is that all of this
0 interface is in 3D so this is currently
0 running locally on my Mac so there&;s
0 um it does catch the maps from the
0 internet but if you want to use it
0 offline you can also do so so you can
0 select certain map regions and then
0 cache them for offline use but let&;s get
0 started with more simple things so as
0 far as route planning goes we have
0 what&;s called missions and then within a
0 single Mission you can have multiple
0 routes so here you can see I already
0 have one example so I have a photogram
0 tree root blend in here and let&;s say
0 maybe we need to plan an additional
0 route where maybe this could be actually
0 as well another photography route or
0 even a corridor scan although I suspect
0 for agricultural probably let&;s maybe
0 stick with photogrammetry so to create a
0 new route in the USS you just click here
0 on the plus button then enter some name
0 for the root so let&;s maybe do
0 let&;s just do flight one something nice
0 and simple
0 then I&;ll select the Drone for which you
0 want to plan this flight and let&;s click
0 on OK
0 so now here on the side we can choose
0 the photogrammetry tool let&;s choose
0 what camera are we using in this case
0 let&;s maybe use the DJI B1 camera
0 and then let&;s go ahead and select area
0 that we would like to scan so
0 let&;s select this area
0 and then press enter to complete the
0 figure we can also adjust the direction
0 angle of the server lines and then in
0 just a bit the flight will be fully
0 calculated
0 uh up yeah I need to now decrease the
0 GSD just a bit because as you can see it
0 does exit so basically based on what
0 camera you&;re using the flat altitude in
0 the photogrammetry will be different so
0 in this case I&;ll just have to use a
0 lower GSD value so this is 0.5 because I
0 had number three in there and now
0 let&;s see if all works out
0 usually for longer routes of course it
0 does take a bit more time to calculate
0 them because here it&;s a multiple
0 kilometer area and yeah so here you can
0 see it has been calculated let&;s see
0 what else here this will be so this is
0 39 meters if you want to fly a bit
0 higher
0 we can maybe increase this just a bit
0 incident will be recalculated and
0 usually of course also the higher you
0 fly the uh wider will be the spacing
0 between the flight lines and so you can
0 see that this route has already has been
0 calculated over here we can now go ahead
0 and actually also open up the elevation
0 profile
0 so here you can see the terrain
0 elevation as well as the drone&;s flat
0 altitude all through the route so you
0 can see total distance covered in this
0 quite large route that I planned uh will
0 be 116 kilometers so this is basically
0 all of the flight lines combined you can
0 see a total estimate duration Waypoint
0 count as well as minimum and maximum
0 altitudes here
0 you can also actually adjust how well
0 you want drone to follow the terrain
0 so here you can see that actually in the
0 middle the software has added these
0 additional waypoints so the waypoints
0 are added with a certain accuracy that
0 is set here in the AGL tolerance
0 parameter so you can see since this is
0 set to 3 meters this means that
0 typically the distance between the
0 minimum or the Delta between the minimum
0 and the maximum altitude that&;s here
0 should be about three meters in this
0 case it is like so so you can see we
0 have 79 and 82 meters in there so if I
0 would for example uh increase this then
0 less waypoints will be added in the
0 middle but then again John wouldn&;t
0 follow the terrain as accurately and in
0 the same way you can actually also
0 decrease this if you want the Drone to
0 follow the terrain more accurately
0 so then going further
0 um
0 here in map layers you can see we we&;re
0 by default Now using Google satellite
0 map and you can also use your own
0 overlays in the software in this case I
0 have already actually one overlay
0 imported
0 so let&;s click here on Focus this was
0 just a flight I recently did around our
0 office near rig
0 so zoom out and let&;s go here
0 so it&;s actually also one of the things
0 that is quite useful in software I think
0 is that you can uh basically import your
0 own uh Maps your own internal elevation
0 models which do allow you to see a lot
0 more detail compared to the standard
0 standard Google Maps at least in most
0 areas and uh yeah so basically using
0 this you are able to plan your flights
0 more accurately and be more sure that
0 you are able to avoid any obstacles that
0 might be in your way because you will be
0 up you&;re actually already able to
0 detect them in the flight planning stage
0 then moving on to Elevation so here as
0 well you can see we have an elevation
0 overlay that&;s also imported
0 um
0 together with the terrain sorry with the
0 map data so these are two separative
0 files normally when you import map and
0 elevation these are imported as geotif
0 files into your GCS
0 so
0 um these are this will be like the top
0 features uh to look for in the software
0 uh one additional thing I want to
0 mention is as far as connecting the
0 drones so typically at least the GI
0 drones they&;re connected using our
0 mobile app so it&;s called the gcs4 DJI
0 and it&;s available on our website so
0 basically it&;s connect your DJI drone
0 you install our app on your DJ smart
0 controller and then you make sure that
0 both the computer as well as the mobile
0 app uh or mobile device are on the same
0 network this isn&;t the case when you&;re
0 planning the flights locally uh or of
0 course if you want to if you&;re using
0 UCS Enterprise and you&;re running the
0 server in the cloud in those cases in
0 the mobile app you simply specify what
0 is the IP address of the server that you
0 want to connect to
0 and then the connection is established
0 as well so that&;s basically the idea how
0 you can connect the software uh how you
0 can connect your drones to egcs and then
0 once you have that done you can already
0 upload the route to the Drone uh press
0 on auto mode and then the Drone will
0 automatically take off and fly
0 throughout the mission uh twitch of the
0 mission segments also you can add
0 various actions for example you can see
0 here for this for the Grand Tree root I
0 have added the uh set camera by distance
0 action this is the default one that&;s
0 automatically added and then if you want
0 for example the drones camera to
0 automatically look downwards during the
0 flight you can also add the set camera
0 attitude action and here specify the
0 Tilt to be 90 degrees downwards
0 foreign
0 yes so can I upload my own DSM DTM file
0 to be used instead of generic map
0 um yep so that&;s true the base Maps the
0 base map elevation oftentimes especially
0 if you&;re flying in areas with
0 um
0 with quite steep elevations these can
0 have a high can have quite low Precision
0 so yeah this is what I was showing so in
0 here if you go to map layers here under
0 elevation you can add your own turn
0 elevation sources so this can be either
0 from the jio server or you can actually
0 also use external sources but yeah most
0 people just choose to add their own Maps
0 here into the jio server so you can add
0 for example for example let&;s call this
0 uh just map
0 and you can see so the icon is currently
0 empty so there&;s no map Source available
0 but you can here click on upload and
0 then choose your own geotif file so just
0 to choose file with DOT Tiff extension
0 and will be uploaded and when you have
0 the elevation overlay uploaded then
0 actually all the flights you plan with
0 there and following will be planned
0 according to the uh new digital terrain
0 model or digital surface model that you
0 have uploaded into egcs so I hope that
0 answers your question
0 uh yeah where was I yeah so here
0 basically you can add different actions
0 to the uh Mission segments so here you
0 can see I have now also added the uh
0 change camera attitude and then uh one
0 thing I want to show additionally is if
0 you for example want to now export this
0 to let&;s say uh the jet Polo 2 app like
0 I was saying we have this new feature so
0 then to do that you just need to click
0 here on parameters and then go to export
0 so then this new export window which was
0 added in the GCS 4.12 will open up and
0 then you can simply select to export
0 this to DJI pilot 2 and then this will
0 export your route as a kmz file and then
0 this kmz file can simply be transferred
0 over to the internal storage of your
0 smart controller and uh yeah then you
0 can simply import it into DJI pilot too
0 upload it to the Drone and fly
0 alternatively if you&;re using drones
0 such as the m300 which by the way also
0 supports the import feature uh through
0 DJI pilot 2. for the m300 you can
0 connect it directly to egcs so for that
0 drone uh one alternative if you don&;t
0 want to have the laptop with you in the
0 field
0 is you can actually simply synchronize
0 the routes to our GCS mobile app that
0 runs that&;s running on Smart controller
0 and then you&;ll be able to access all
0 the routes in the field select them and
0 upload them automatically
0 um so see what other questions are there
0 yeah so one is uh do we have support for
0 uh spraying drones too this depends on
0 the specific spring drones which you
0 mean your GCS can work with spring
0 drones and but most of these would be
0 have to be based on autopilot or PX4 at
0 least I think with most spring drones
0 this is the case many of you probably
0 might know DJI address drone but with
0 agra&;s it&;s unfortunately not supported
0 in dji&;s SDK so if DJI were to add
0 support for the Drone in the SDK then we
0 would be able to support that but for
0 now unfortunately since it&;s not in the
0 SDK we can&;t support the aggress Drone
0 but other spring drones based on
0 autopilot or PX4 we can support
0 uh yeah and then I see another question
0 from Carlos about planning and uploading
0 uh flight shoot if you are offline in
0 the field so this I also actually want
0 to show you guys if you are offline then
0 first thing is that you won&;t have
0 access to the map and to the elevation
0 unless you have imported your own so to
0 do that we have a specific section here
0 that&;s called offline maps and so with
0 the offline maps feature you can
0 actually choose uh map segments which
0 you want to load for offline use so this
0 will allow you to catch large map
0 segments up to 100 square kilometers
0 um locally to your computer and so then
0 when you have that then you are able to
0 actually fly when you are offline and by
0 the way one thing is that uh if you&;re
0 doing the root export then all the
0 elevation data is saved in there so it&;s
0 basically exporting as a missile
0 altitude
0 um
0 although if you export the app for DJI
0 pilot 2 then it&;s exporting uh relative
0 to the ground under the first Waypoint
0 so in that case make sure that the Drone
0 starts from the same altitude as the
0 altitude of the first Waypoint so
0 ideally it should start from where the
0 first weapon is or the same altitude but
0 coming back here to offline maps you can
0 press here on ADD and then you can
0 simply double click on the map somewhere
0 to select what points should be in your
0 map
0 so for example you can do like that if
0 you maybe want to adjust a bit more you
0 can of course always select additional
0 points move them around and basically
0 select any custom area that you wish
0 next you can enter the name so for
0 example let&;s call this
0 region one and then you can choose what
0 map should be cached for offline use as
0 well as what elevation once you have
0 selected all of this then you can click
0 here on Create and then you&;ll see that
0 now this map region is being cached from
0 the internet to your local Geographic
0 server and this will basically allow you
0 to fly this even in case when you will
0 not have any internet connectivity
0 um okay I&;ll see another question about
0 obstacle avoidance
0 um there&;s Sudden Change uh is it so
0 dependent on what the type of drone is
0 used uh yeah so keep in mind here that
0 as far as avoiding obstacles it does
0 depend on what sensors the Drone has and
0 how capable the Drone is of avoiding
0 obstacles actually I answered this
0 question today to another user on our
0 UCS Facebook group so by the way if
0 you&;re not yet there I suggest you check
0 out our GSS user Facebook group because
0 it has like a ton of interesting
0 information for you so if you&;re not yet
0 there you can go talk to other GCS drone
0 pilots and see what&;s up uh but yeah
0 about obstacle avoidance I would
0 actually say that the primary thing
0 you&;d have to focus on
0 is the flight planning itself and making
0 sure that there are no obstacles there
0 so one thing would be
0 um maybe creating a map first then from
0 higher altitude and then planning the
0 flight according to that if you suspect
0 there might be some obstacles in the way
0 also of course uh Good Pilot skills are
0 quite important so in that case make
0 sure you&;re always monitoring the fpv
0 camera if your drone is equipped with
0 one and if you see any obstacle uh
0 that&;s getting a bit too close to the
0 Drone take our manual control that&;s
0 always of course safer
0 um and I think the obstacle detection
0 should only serve as a last resort if
0 all else fails then you just you know
0 cross fingers and hope that the Drone
0 will be able to stop in time but again
0 this depends on the speed of the Drone
0 plus one thing is that obstacle
0 detection systems uh depending on what
0 kind of sensors are used also are not
0 100 reliable so nothing is 100
0 uh in life of course but uh yeah so in
0 general uh rely on your own pilot skills
0 rely on the fact that you can you know
0 what where Jones gonna be flying what
0 things might there be in the way and
0 yeah then of course you still have the
0 obstacle detection systems just in case
0 but yeah I think
0 um I have already been talking for quite
0 a while now so I think maybe now let&;s
0 uh any questions you might have about
0 the GCS uh please do leave them in the Q
0 a so we will have a q a section after
0 the uh uh after approvement guys also
0 talk about their topic specifically for
0 agriculture so if you have any questions
0 about your GCS I will also be able to
0 either answer this in text or answer
0 this live but I think now I&;ll pass the
0 torch onto the guys from uh proof minder
0 so yep uh thank you for uh listening to
0 me and yeah so now guys the floor is
0 yours
0 thank you thank you very much so let me
0 let me take the worm and I&;ll share my
0 screen
0 okay
0 you see what I see yeah we can see the
0 screen all right thank you very much
0 okay so very quickly about us so we are
0 we are startup we found it ourselves
0 um
0 um two years ago beginning of 2011 and
0 instead a lot of things happened
0 um we got a lot of recognition on the uh
0 from from different um accelerators from
0 different um uh innovation of Arts we
0 collected and uh we are a team of 12
0 people
0 um today
0 um
0 what is more important than me also have
0 um a lot of passion for drones and to
0 use that technology for for agriculture
0 so
0 let me let me talk about that
0 okay so what we planned uh for today is
0 to
0 um give you an Insight on why
0 it&;s a it&;s a great thing to use uh
0 um drones in agriculture and why is it
0 important and why we approach that that
0 subject
0 um we&;re gonna review an Insight that
0 how we actually doing our work for uh
0 for customers give you an insight to our
0 use places and if you are the more of
0 the platform and then I&;m going to hand
0 over to Gabor my colleague who is um
0 uh leading our field operations and
0 who&;s going to talk about our
0 experiences doing a large long flights
0 with ugcs on the field and I&;ll share a
0 little bit of our secrets and learnings
0 from that
0 all right so why is it important to see
0 the the details and why we invested into
0 the Sleep level learning Leaf flower
0 farming technology
0 so you probably also sense that the
0 agriculture is under pressure you
0 everyone knows that knows about climate
0 change everyone knows about the
0 um
0 the growing number of people on on
0 Affinity planet
0 um but you probably don&;t know that also
0 the The Regulators pushes this um
0 segment a lot to be more economical to
0 use less chemicals to take out land from
0 extensive
0 agriculture and could be more
0 bio and organic and these kind of
0 regulations are pushed on on the farmers
0 and we have to comply with these things
0 uh what what is more important probably
0 is that everyone of course just wants to
0 eat healthier better food every day you
0 and me are our kids we all want to just
0 um benefit from technology and and and
0 indeed healthier and better food
0 so so to to be able to tackle with these
0 challenges that there are a lot of
0 foregrinalists on the field who are
0 trying to solve this this equation of of
0 of pressures and and the way that they
0 they do it is that they go to their land
0 they go their craft or from every day
0 they want to see the leaves they want to
0 see how the crops are growing
0 um they want to feel and sense what is
0 happening on the field what needs to be
0 done
0 um what what is important is that they
0 need to do it on quite a big land and
0 that&;s not it&;s not possible by just
0 walking around and checking everything
0 and trying to make an understanding of
0 what&;s happening in one corner of my
0 field
0 um what are the infections all the the
0 plants are actually growing there what
0 they need
0 sometimes they they control hundreds and
0 thousands of hectares and they need to
0 understand the situation daily and just
0 decide the what&;s the best possible best
0 action okay
0 so
0 the way how we can
0 um help the agronomist is to
0 add them to make better decisions so
0 they can that can cultivate healthier
0 um food they can create more food from
0 the same amount of land with Nets
0 chemical less chemicals so so
0 for that they they need to shift today&;s
0 decision making that the unit of
0 decision making from thinking in a whole
0 field or a whole plot and they they need
0 to focus on what&;s happening with each
0 of the plants so they can give every
0 parent to the right care what they
0 actually need and just that much of
0 chemicals that much of uh or fertilizer
0 that this plant is needs at that time
0 so this is what we made possible with
0 proof mind there um what we did is that
0 we we combined the trade Festival
0 Technologies and Camera Technologies
0 with the power of AI
0 um and Computing and we put a lot of
0 engineering together to build a platform
0 which is able to process very high
0 resolution uh images at the lot at the
0 large scale
0 so the image is what we capture
0 withdrawals we can analyze with AI we
0 can do it in Biggs because otherwise
0 like dozens of hectares daily and we can
0 extract the knowledge and we can hand it
0 over to the algorithmiest so that can
0 they can use it they can decide what to
0 do
0 so basically the result of this is that
0 they can see
0 um a yield increase they can see uh that
0 they can decrease the
0 um the usage of chemicals and the input
0 materials and they can see basically a
0 return of the investment and that&;s that
0 what drives the economy and network
0 drives the green change as well
0 um as an audition for this
0 um we we did that calculation
0 um beginning of this year uh working
0 with one of the partners
0 um using by using our technology in
0 hybrid Quorum
0 quality control to
0 um
0 to apply or what we have
0 um during the season results in a cargo
0 ship of extra food and a lot of extra
0 revenue for performers actually and
0 that&;s just uh that&;s just one customer
0 and hybrid corn production is is just
0 one use case
0 um we
0 um
0 multiple use cases we know only
0 concentrated on on on that that segment
0 reproduction is sorry seed production is
0 is very important for us but we also
0 um use that technology your own
0 technology and AI technology for for
0 other things it can be used for the
0 interaction it can be used for yield
0 assessment it can be used for to
0 understand the status of the
0 vegetation can be used to assess
0 different kind of Damage Done by
0 Wildlife by insects by uh weather
0 conditions like like wind and rain and
0 um
0 basically
0 um these use cases build the platform
0 what we have
0 and if uh if these use cases are not
0 enough then we can easily create new use
0 cases and that&;s happening well for
0 these days we are just started to um
0 years ago so we&;re still building up the
0 capabilities of our platform and we um
0 we created a workflow which makes it
0 possible to create a new use case
0 um just in a few weeks so from
0 identifying the problem which could be a
0 new new new read in a new crop
0 vegetation which all of the customers
0 needs to be tagged then we go there with
0 drones or actually or a pile of drone
0 pilot Partners grow there to capture the
0 images between the AI to to recognize
0 and measure what&;s uh what&;s on the
0 pictures uh reveal the algorithm and we
0 um make it ready for the customers to
0 use in in a couple of weeks we can we
0 can publish it on in our platform and
0 then they can see where that lead is
0 going and what is the what is the status
0 all right so let me go into more details
0 and give you um a couple of use cases
0 which we already have uh which we
0 already
0 um give to our customers
0 this season and which we
0 um are going to uh give to our customers
0 in the next season so
0 one of the use cases is uh missed
0 testing detection the the Tesla is this
0 flower part over the top of the core and
0 that&;s what generates the problem
0 basically
0 um that is very important uh in hybrid
0 form that we removed that part uh in
0 time from uh from the from top of the of
0 the of the male uh
0 so hybrid spawn is is uh has a lot of
0 importance in in the food
0 um chain because that&;s what um gives
0 the the highest yield uh and one is very
0 important uh source of food and um
0 you&;ll probably also know that in in
0 Europe
0 um well we don&;t we don&;t do GMO so the
0 only way to come up with better and
0 better
0 um corn seed or hybrids is to cross
0 pollinate corn and to create new hybrids
0 um for that basically what
0 um the agronomists do is that they they
0 saw two kind of corn
0 um on on the same field
0 um if I just want to simplify it then
0 one
0 row of female porn and there there is
0 another row of uh of the male corn and
0 the female and a male
0 um the technology of
0 um to create hybrid requires that this
0 tassel the stock part of the males is
0 removed in time so
0 um sorry from the females is removed in
0 in time so the males can pollinate the
0 females okay and uh that requires a very
0 big Precision actually
0 99.7 of these tassels needs to be
0 removed
0 um that&;s a big challenge actually
0 because
0 um
0 because there is a lot of field
0 um where this uh process needs to be
0 applied just just in Hungary um where we
0 live there are 30 000 hectares of hybrid
0 world and um there are 100
0 000
0 um corn crops on a hectare so a lot of a
0 lot of work which is usually done
0 um in a
0 combining machines and manual work
0 um and the value what we what our
0 solution provides here is that we can
0 fly over the fields
0 um detect
0 um the vessels
0 and uh tell the agronomists where are
0 the left left ones and how can we
0 um where do I need to um go and remove
0 them okay
0 uh this is how it looks like
0 um these are the images uh or drones
0 um the Drone stake
0 um you can see that it&;s it&;s very high
0 resolution
0 um we use less than 0.5
0 um millimeter per pixel and GSD to be
0 able to recognize the
0 vessels because the Teslas actually
0 hide between the leaves they need to be
0 removed at the very early stage so here
0 are all these images you can see that
0 these are the vessels in between those
0 red squares and uh on on the top of the
0 image or top of the screen you can see
0 what the AI sees basically how the AI is
0 recognizing these features on the images
0 and giving the information to um to the
0 farmers
0 so that&;s that&;s one use case um the
0 other use case which um I bring you um
0 today is drug V detection
0 so Rod read is is a very
0 um bad
0 um we
0 um in our region it&;s not only bad for
0 um the registration but it&;s also
0 a huge problem because because it&;s
0 Poland is causing a lot of allergy I
0 don&;t know if you you have it in your
0 country
0 um it&;s it&;s a big problem where we live
0 and also the government regulates the
0 farmers to remove that field weed
0 um so we can use that technology on the
0 same technology to detect
0 um where the weed is growing and where
0 um the plants are on the field
0 um we had this um pilot with cortiva
0 agroscience this year when we um use
0 their technology to detect this rock
0 weed in sunflower and give an assessment
0 where do they need to spray
0 um
0 and killed and killed a weed or to apply
0 um
0 other Technologies to to remove the
0 infection
0 okay so uh sorry Norbert uh just one
0 question to see that we have
0 um so Joseph is asking so what kind of
0 camera are you using uh do you like use
0 uh simply an RGB camera or are using a
0 multi-spectral camera right so uh we
0 need very high resolution and we need to
0 see
0 um basically all the features of the
0 plants to be able to apply our
0 algorithms so we use RGB cameras because
0 of resolution
0 so the resolution of multiple chromosas
0 Unfortunately they are not there yet
0 where we need to
0 need to have them all right well thank
0 you thank you very much
0 okay so um let me give you an Insight
0 how we use uh ugcas and um the Huawei
0 shows um the Enterprise version of of
0 this platform
0 so uh
0 what we do has quite a lot of special
0 needs um I think
0 that we what we what we do um with the
0 girls not very few companies do actually
0 and these Special Needs had to be
0 supported by by platform that
0 um makes it make this whole thing
0 possible from
0 from the data collection process
0 um first of all
0 um we have very rigid settings we what
0 we when we want Pilots to to capture the
0 the data then then we we give one a lot
0 of settings and details how they should
0 um they should fly whatever elevation
0 what camera angle without all this use
0 the camera to face down sometimes we use
0 a pitched camera angle
0 um we have to make sure that we capture
0 everything on the land and we don&;t
0 miss a couple of meters when we design
0 the flight so
0 we have
0 we needed something which
0 um creates
0 this in a way that the pilots doesn&;t
0 have to
0 um sell everything themselves we can
0 create the set the centrally
0 um there is less rooms for errors
0 sometimes we need to complete our
0 missions in a couple of days so there is
0 no um room to to miss That Type window
0 when you can measure the vegetation and
0 so we really need just one shot and we
0 we need to capture the data right
0 um we needed a lot of special setting so
0 which which
0 um
0 um ugcs gives us to be able to to set
0 the every barometer basically or of the
0 flight
0 and we needed the API that we can
0 um publish all these things to the
0 software without lots of manual work
0 because we we designed the flights
0 centrally and you just want the Drone
0 Pilots to complete the flights on the
0 field
0 the other thing is that we use very high
0 resolution
0 um
0 that requires flying below
0 um so we usually fly between 10 and and
0 50 meters and that&;s uh has to be
0 supported by by the platform we use
0 um carrying follow is a critical feature
0 because sometimes we just see like 5-10
0 meters of of elevation change and we
0 need the same quality of data of the
0 same resolution from from every piece of
0 of land
0 and as I said we have to be sure that we
0 don&;t miss
0 um
0 and we capture everything from from a
0 field
0 and the third thing is that we
0 we have a global solution so what we
0 provide is working everywhere on this
0 planet we have customers or from uh from
0 from different continents we have to
0 have something which works everywhere
0 which provides support to
0 um to different drones uh which has
0 elevation data everywhere which is easy
0 to set up because we have neon board
0 Pilots to the complete or
0 missions in different countries and we
0 want them to be able to to use our
0 technology without too much hassle
0 um they don&;t need to bring too many
0 things to the field like they don&;t need
0 a notebook they don&;t need to measure
0 things they just go there they
0 um connect the Drone to their
0 top left or mobile and they are able to
0 complete the data capturing okay and we
0 also only we also need these Enterprise
0 features a lot that that we are able to
0 oversee what&;s happening from a from a
0 contour Center we have how many Pilots
0 are
0 flying where are they with the missions
0 um and these kind of Enterprise features
0 like data security and
0 that we have logs from uh from the from
0 the side flights that we can later
0 analyze and so on
0 foreign plan
0 um basically so what happening is that
0 the customer goes to comes to us either
0 through the
0 um to the software or or to a phone call
0 and asking us to
0 to run a mission give me a stand
0 counting from this and that field
0 so our start is that we we need a flight
0 Contour uh for for the field this is
0 something either the customer gives to
0 us or or we created for them based on uh
0 high quality
0 um and fresh images
0 um and that&;s what uh the basically
0 gives the borders of the mission
0 um we also
0 um optimize the the flight uh to the use
0 case and the Drone which are going to
0 use for the five mission we the world
0 support everyday commercial drones mavic
0 and Phantom series and we also have
0 support for the expensive Enterprise
0 drones which can capture much more data
0 once so it&;s it&;s a combination of
0 possibilities and need
0 um what we do is that we generate
0 segments for the flights which are
0 achievable with uh with one battery
0 so what that means is that the Dom pilot
0 doesn&;t have to change it doesn&;t have
0 to take care about the
0 um where to restart the mission from and
0 this is also makes possible that there
0 are multiple of drone Pilots working on
0 the same data collection mission
0 well once we split up the
0 um the the mission into smaller chunks
0 then we upload it uh to ugcs
0 um that&;s also an automated task we also
0 do some manual checks to make sure that
0 we are not crossing any
0 airspace and there are no power lines
0 and these kind of things and then we
0 send a mission to the Dual pilot and we
0 also provide them an on-called support
0 so they can anytime call to a contra
0 Center and just say that okay an issue
0 here
0 um can you please change the flight plan
0 and it&;s done centrally
0 um and they just get the get the new
0 flight uh plan on their mobile in a
0 couple of minutes or even less
0 all right so let me um give you a demo
0 how how it looks like
0 um in real life in our platform so let
0 me just quickly stop the share and
0 change to um
0 the browser
0 um if you have any questions mean by
0 them maybe this is the right time to
0 answer
0 the stuff that you see any
0 any questions it should be answer now uh
0 currently there are no open questions in
0 the Q a so I think we can proceed okay
0 thank you do you see um the application
0 which I&;m sharing
0 yeah we can see it okay cool okay so
0 what you um see here is basically uh the
0 proof finder platform it&;s uh it&;s a web
0 uh it&;s a web tool
0 um you can access it from anywhere
0 um
0 what you see is the map screen which is
0 basically the result scheme so this is
0 what the farmer sees
0 um we assess their vegetation okay
0 what I would like to show you today is a
0 stamp counting use case for commercial
0 Corp which is about
0 County how many how many cores emerged
0 after
0 they were planted okay so this is our
0 field which we um which we want to uh
0 want to stand count
0 um let me just give you the Contour so
0 that&;s actually this is 45
0 hectares support a big land
0 um well this is the Contour what we get
0 from the customer and this is how we
0 split it up for for segments
0 um this has been split up to 30 smaller
0 chunks so each of the squares are
0 basically roughly 1.5 1.6
0 um hectares and uh that is achievable to
0 fly within like 60 minutes with the sex
0 with the settings we use with the front
0 of four drone
0 and uh
0 that means that they don&;t need to
0 change the battery between
0 um just between these these slides not
0 within within the flight so the pilots
0 can just upload and around segment zero
0 segment one segment two we just uh
0 change the battery in between the
0 segments okay
0 um let me just pop up one of the
0 segments to show you um how the
0 um how the data actually
0 um
0 it seems that the system just timed out
0 while I was presenting just let me
0 let me log in again
0 no problem it&;s called the demo effect
0 always happens it&;s happening a lot
0 all right then
0 okay it&;s coming on
0 yeah so let me just um show you
0 um
0 all the data
0 looks like okay
0 now we capture the with the dogs
0 okay so let me just uh select one of the
0 segments
0 um
0 and they&;ll show you the process data
0 like this one
0 so once the pilots are completing the
0 mission they they send us the the data
0 they upload it to um to the system and
0 they then we are going to build an ortho
0 Mosaic uh for standard County we don&;t
0 always create a lower thermostat in our
0 system as well as possible but for stamp
0 routing we we do um create a portable
0 site you can see that this is a very
0 high resolution
0 image so you can see that this is a
0 tractor wheel it&;s probably like 40 40
0 centimeters from side to side so
0 um these are the line of corns they are
0 very small like five six centimeters
0 just four or five leagues that&;s the
0 ideal State when you should uh Around
0 The Stance Counting
0 what&;s what&;s happening is that our AEI
0 algorithm is looking into the image and
0 uh actually counting each and every
0 piece of corn
0 that is visible on the image
0 let me just
0 um scroll up here and show you that how
0 it looks like when there is a wildlife
0 damage or a Corp field so what what is
0 what is happening is that Wars
0 just go on the field and they like to
0 eat the the core seeds that looks like
0 this and you can see that uh when when
0 that&;s that&;s the that&;s the part of the
0 damage
0 um the red dots are um the corn itself
0 and you can just extract a lot of
0 um information uh from this and as an
0 agronomist you can use this to turn to
0 the
0 uh to the authorities have asked for
0 compensation because of wildlife damage
0 you can you can see if your equipment
0 the doctor the the sewing machine they
0 they work properly you can assess what&;s
0 the different reasons why you um don&;t
0 have
0 um the amount of corn which you wanted
0 to have okay we also process this
0 information and and present it on a on a
0 on a map so um that is easier to
0 understand so
0 um
0 we calculate
0 um the average number of corn plants on
0 on the field and we provide a heat map
0 which is
0 where the
0 green is darker that&;s where you have
0 more corn but it&;s lighter and you don&;t
0 have enough corn there
0 and you can compare it with actually
0 um if you did differentiated sewing
0 um that&;s a practice which is more and
0 more common in agriculture to put more
0 seeds where you feel the stronger and
0 put less seeds into parts of the field
0 when when you cannot expect that that
0 much growth because of it doesn&;t have
0 enough
0 things to to make your corn grow fast
0 then you can even compare the results so
0 as you can see in some parts of of the
0 image like here it&;s darker it meets uh
0 with the
0 with the with the sewing Zone with some
0 parts like here it doesn&;t lead with the
0 sewing sewing Maps so you don&;t see you
0 can see that somehow this part of the
0 field couldn&;t even
0 help the corn grow or there was some
0 solid problem okay so this is how it how
0 it looks like everything what we measure
0 is calculated so it&;s a it&;s a map
0 um you can put everything on our um
0 on on the map so basically we know the
0 coordinates of each and every corn on
0 the field and then we can even follow
0 the the development of the plant to the
0 whole season
0 why this
0 all right so let me switch back to the
0 presentation
0 and hand over to Gabor
0 to talk about our
0 experiences on the field
0 thank you very much can you hear me okay
0 first of all yeah yeah okay for you so
0 thanks
0 um
0 so I will talk about the Practical usage
0 of of the software and the best
0 practices that we gathered during the
0 seasons that we worked with the gugcs
0 software and also working in the
0 agricultural field with drones so can
0 you go to the next live please so um I
0 would like to give you a couple of
0 practical tips hints how to use the
0 drones and how to use the softwares and
0 the first slide is just before leaving
0 home because it&;s really easy to to
0 forget something and then you travel a
0 couple hundred kilometers to do a job
0 and then you find out that that you
0 missed some some critical part of your
0 mission and then you have to travel back
0 so um we suggest you to check the
0 equipment before you leave your house so
0 anything that&;s strange on your drone or
0 your batteries that should should be a
0 warning sign for example the cracks on
0 the whole Hull of the Drone or if you
0 have damaged battery is or some path
0 batteries that you shouldn&;t bring with
0 yourself or if your cables are a little
0 bit a little bit damaged that you
0 connect your drone and your your remote
0 controller you should replace them
0 before you leave and it&;s really useful
0 to check the battery percentages the
0 battery levels before you go because
0 um it&;s it&;s the best if you finish the
0 charging before you leave because it can
0 drop several percentages overnight and
0 then you might need to to charge those
0 batteries on the field which might not
0 be easy to do
0 um
0 John piles tend to forget to check the
0 key the KP index and the weather
0 forecast before they leave because
0 um especially this summer we had the
0 case I think it was in July when we had
0 a very high solar activity and I think
0 sometime it went up the KP index went up
0 to six and seven uh points during the
0 summer and we faced a little bit of GPS
0 issues
0 um where the GPS was not that exact so
0 we had a little bit of problems with the
0 flying so it&;s always best to check it
0 before you leave and also the weather
0 forecast is important because the
0 Phantom Force Factory wind tolerance or
0 at least what they say in the details is
0 uh 10 meters per second of per seconds
0 um
0 maximum so if you are facing high wind
0 it can it means that maybe you are not
0 able to finish your your mission or you
0 have to stop for some time and then you
0 can lose a few hours or even a few days
0 of work
0 um you always have to check if you pack
0 sufficient batteries with ugcs software
0 Robert or Norbert already showed that we
0 can split the missions into small
0 segments and then it means that we can
0 plan how many batteries do we need in a
0 in the best case scenario so if we are
0 working with a large field and then use
0 when we split it up for 30 different
0 segments then it will mean we should
0 bring at least that amount of batteries
0 but we are always trying to to plan more
0 than that because we always face some
0 issues we are not um planning for and
0 then we always over plan with the
0 battery numbers we always have to bring
0 more than you need
0 our ex our experience is that for
0 Phantom 4 drones if you have eight
0 batteries and the multi-charger it can
0 which can
0 um charge three batteries in parallel
0 that uh sufficient for a continuous
0 flight
0 um
0 for the whole day but also you need a
0 generator with yourself and that&;s for a
0 phantom 4 drone it&;s uh 650 bets
0 um Power at least and it can charge four
0 batteries and your remote control at the
0 same time if you have an Enterprise
0 level drawn for example a mattress m300
0 then you mean we&;ll need a larger
0 generator more than one kilowatt of of
0 power and then the best tip I think from
0 this slide is to pack extra pieces of
0 other consumables which I mean is the
0 propellers the the SD card the cables
0 and so on because it&;s it&;s really a key
0 part of your mission it&;s a small thing
0 like an SD card but if you have just one
0 and maybe you lose it on the field in
0 the corn field or or during your trip or
0 something is is not okay with the card
0 then you can travel back home and then
0 you have to or even in this next town
0 you have to drive in and buy another one
0 and you can lose some time
0 the next slide please
0 so that was about planning to leave your
0 your home and then I will talk about the
0 mission site how to do things at the
0 mission site so when you are flying at
0 the first time at the spot at a certain
0 field it&;s it&;s the best practice to to
0 look around the the borders of the field
0 uh for um maybe branches that can be
0 um
0 um inside your flight plans maybe you
0 could check the Google Maps and it looks
0 okay but there was a storm a few days
0 ago and there is a dry branch which is
0 now broken and it&;s it&;s on the way of
0 your drone and it can cause some
0 problems sometimes we are facing the
0 issue that we are planning the missions
0 and the farmers uh forgetting to tell us
0 that there is a huge irrigation system
0 operating on the field and if it&;s a GPS
0 um system or it it includes a GPS system
0 it&;s an automated irrigation system it
0 can cause some trouble with your drone
0 so we Face the issue when it was just
0 they switched on the irrigation system
0 and suddenly the Drone lost all the
0 connection with the with the controller
0 and it started to come back because the
0 the interference of the GPS system of
0 the of the irrigation system was was too
0 strong or sometimes they just forget to
0 tell us that there are some certain
0 workers
0 um on the field and we have to be
0 careful when flying above them and we
0 need to to calculate that we need to
0 switch maybe flight plans to to avoid
0 flying above the workers and so on if
0 you can have a spotter video and you can
0 send that person out and check for for
0 branches or obstacles I think this is
0 the best way to to do this we always
0 suggest to check and adjust your return
0 to home altitude all the time because
0 sometimes it&;s just enough to say okay
0 20 30 meters return to home attitude is
0 more than enough because there are no
0 obstacles but you forget about it you go
0 to the next site you are in a in a rush
0 you forget about it and there is uh um
0 maybe a forest there are some buildings
0 in the neighborhood and then your drone
0 will be stopped because of the of the
0 return to home altitude is not
0 sufficient or it&;s it&;s in some ways
0 something is in the way to come back
0 also check your camera settings
0 according to the current light
0 conditions because sometimes
0 if you push put the auto button it&;s
0 it&;s not the best results so we usually
0 adjust the camera settings
0 um every time if we go to a new field
0 then we have some sunny weather we
0 always check the settings and adjust it
0 manually
0 because of the the special um
0 mobile phone thing so for example we use
0 our mobile phones sometimes to to have
0 the the Drone to put it on the drones
0 radio
0 um sorry remote controls and we are
0 using it as also as a hotspot but
0 sometimes if you are receiving a call
0 the the Wi-Fi connection is is stopped
0 at least it&;s happening on my phone so
0 what we do is we always bring a little
0 mobile device with us a separate hotspot
0 and we start it immediately when we we
0 set up Gap camp at the at the site so we
0 can have
0 uh uninterrupted Wi-Fi connection even
0 if you receive a call or if something is
0 happening there and it&;s the best
0 practice to check the Veen velocity at
0 the site because you can see it in the
0 forecast applications and in the maybe
0 in the TV but it&;s the best if you go to
0 the site and check it for yourself at
0 the local place
0 the next slide please
0 during the day when we are working
0 um
0 we are suggesting you to to save the the
0 data from your SD card from time to time
0 um with the new SD cards
0 128 gigabytes or even more it&;s easy to
0 to forget about it because you can you
0 can handle a whole mission without doing
0 any saving because the the capability of
0 the SD card allows you to do that but
0 something can happen you can you can
0 lose the data and it&;s it&;s always best
0 to say okay you wait an hour or you work
0 an hour and then you save the data from
0 your SD card while you are doing that
0 and you are copying the files to your to
0 your laptop you can let your drone rest
0 a little bit you can you can leave it
0 out in the open
0 um let the wind cool it down a little
0 bit you can always check the props and
0 the the whole and for damages you can
0 you can always manually or visually
0 check your drone if something is out of
0 the ordinary and you can use this time
0 for these kind of things but you can
0 also check your photos which is I think
0 really important because if you create a
0 few thousand photos and you only find
0 out at the end of the day that your
0 images are blurred or there were some
0 issues with your camera angles then then
0 you lost the whole days of work but if
0 you are doing some SD card copying then
0 in the meantime you just randomly check
0 in the folders and then you quickly go
0 through some of the pictures even you
0 can upload to the system that we are
0 using and then we can already start
0 processing and after a few minutes the
0 process can happen and then we can see
0 some results and we can say okay let&;s
0 go ahead or we need to change something
0 uh we suggest you to only fly with fully
0 charged batteries because we found out
0 that uh if we have batteries if we start
0 the mission with the battery which is
0 only let&;s say 90 to 91 percent charged
0 we always face the issue that it was
0 that few percent that was missing to
0 finish some some flight routes so it&;s
0 really really annoying when you are
0 missing only the last five to ten
0 pictures of a mission and you have to
0 bring the Drone back have a new battery
0 put it back and then finish the mission
0 at uh with another battery so if you
0 fully charge your batteries and start
0 the mission with those things you can
0 avoid these these mistakes
0 um it&;s um our experience is that with
0 the Phantom Pro drones you can cover
0 around 35 to 40 hectares within a day
0 using this 0.5 GSD data and but this is
0 the maximum what you can say if
0 everything goes well without any stress
0 and without any rush because if you want
0 to to get more land covered maybe you
0 will be a little bit too stretched with
0 your resources I need your time and you
0 will start doing making mistakes and you
0 can end up
0 um maybe with more mistakes and you can
0 have a problem at the end of the day
0 so this is our best practice to say
0 don&;t plan more than 35 to 40 hectares
0 per day
0 with the ugcs software it is really a
0 good feature that you can quickly
0 recalculate your missions your flight
0 plans even from a remote office so let&;s
0 say I&;m working on the field and then I
0 find that the irrigation system just
0 started to work and we were not aware of
0 this in the previous days so I can
0 either do it myself on my laptop at the
0 car at the site or I can and call
0 Norbert and then tell him the situation
0 and he can quite easily in a few seconds
0 he can recalculate the plan I can use my
0 my remote controller to to download the
0 new flight Maps again even if I&;m 200
0 300 kilometers away from him and then in
0 in a matter of minutes we solve this
0 issue so I think this is always a good
0 thing to have a supporting partner maybe
0 in an office because in the field
0 sometimes you&;re not able to see the
0 screens or you don&;t have time simply to
0 recalculate these things
0 but you can do this with ugcs it&;s
0 always possible to do it remotely and
0 then have a fresh flight plan and rerun
0 it next slide please
0 so the best practices in general
0 um everything will be um
0 really really hot in the summer
0 everything will be uh
0 um maybe shutting down so for example
0 tablets and phones they can they tend to
0 overheat in the summer we suggest you to
0 remove your your covers from your
0 tablets or from your phones your your
0 protective covers because it just makes
0 everything worse and the problem with
0 the drones and the batteries is that the
0 drones can handle the heat quite okay
0 but the batteries you cannot charge them
0 until they cool down so you have to wait
0 a couple of minutes or even sometimes
0 15-20 minutes if it&;s the hot summer day
0 that they cool down because you are not
0 able to start charging before they cool
0 down so we sometimes just jump in the
0 car and then start the AC and blow the
0 cold air to the to the batteries to let
0 them cool down quickly but you have to
0 make it
0 um you have to plan for this when you
0 are making a plan on your timings
0 um unfortunately the screen light or the
0 power of the screen lights are not
0 sufficient on the field so tablets
0 phones you are not able to see them
0 clearly on the field so use Shades
0 whenever it&;s possible you can get this
0 from from drone shops and everything
0 it&;s better if you can you can cover
0 them
0 and as I said earlier if you are doing
0 some some check on your drones or if you
0 are copying files to your laptop let the
0 equipment rest for a few minutes it&;s
0 just just a matter of minutes really but
0 it can help sometimes we Face the issue
0 that the Phantoms um
0 sensors were a little bit too hot they
0 were overheated and they sent some false
0 data but if you let them to to cool down
0 a little bit we had some some
0 um we we didn&;t have these problems
0 anymore
0 and um one last thing that ugc has this
0 very cool feature that you can track
0 multiple drones at the same time so we
0 had a large field covered with four
0 drones at the same time and we could see
0 them all at the same laptop and if they
0 if two drones for example fly too close
0 to each other you get the system message
0 of warning sound and a system message
0 that there is a collision error there is
0 a collision warning
0 um ahead and then you can even if your
0 drone Pilots are not paying attention
0 you can always warn them and they will
0 be always worn by the system that
0 something is not okay and it&;s really a
0 cool feature that you can track these
0 drones and even the percentages of their
0 batteries the flight attitude you can
0 see everything and I don&;t think there
0 is other softwares that can have this
0 feature built in
0 I think that was all from my end thank
0 you thank you thank you very much Gabor
0 I think um you can sense from from what
0 cardboard said that there are quite a
0 lot of things to take care about when
0 you when you&;re on the field
0 um enough for a pilot to to do
0 um I think planning the fight should be
0 should be not part of the things uh the
0 pilots are doing on the field and this
0 is why we love to
0 um plan our flights ahead
0 um on and use the the Enterprise
0 setup to publish the the fly pens to to
0 the pilots that&;s one thing the other
0 thing is that probably you also see from
0 what um Gabor said is that for
0 agriculture there are a lot of land to
0 to do
0 um and to fly over especially if you
0 won&;t have any resolution images
0 and uh you really want to maximize the
0 time when your drone is flying
0 and covering covering land the other
0 mentions that we we can cover a bit
0 smaller drones
0 um certifies for the stocks per day that
0 is basically eight hours of effective
0 flight time per draw
0 um with bigger drones it&;s even more
0 important that that they are flying that
0 they are not seeing on the ground while
0 you&;re just changing settings and trying
0 to figure out what to do and where to
0 find because because that&;s just
0 expensive for the Drone Pilots to
0 to um
0 to spend time that with unnecessary
0 settings
0 and I mean what this software does is
0 really a great help in that as well
0 yep thank you uh guys for the
0 presentation and I think now I&;ll just
0 quickly share uh my screen and I think
0 we can probably actually move into the
0 uh q a section uh so see there are some
0 questions so let&;s
0 when we get started with that so you can
0 see
0 um so the first one is uh what
0 specifications of a PC are required to
0 process such high quality Ortho Mosaic
0 data
0 right so
0 this one so it&;s uh it&;s our system
0 takes care about the orthomosaic uh
0 creation
0 um it&;s it&;s totally on our end uh we
0 use our Cloud infrastructure uh for that
0 it&;s a very complex process and it&;s
0 very indeed it&;s very compute intensive
0 so we use a cluster of computers to
0 build these images very fast
0 it&;s not possible on a desktop at all
0 yeah I suppose everything is done by
0 remote computer because that&;s the uh
0 the answer yeah that okay so I&;ll mark
0 this one as answered uh next one is from
0 uh another one of our uh listeners
0 Watchers so this is about so what in
0 which plants other than corn can you get
0 clear results and what problems can you
0 detect yeah so we can provide um we have
0 algorithms for stand counting corn
0 um sunflower uh
0 be beetroot sugar beet for sure and we
0 can create any other vegetation where
0 the the plants are actually
0 can be distinguished
0 uh on on an image
0 um from each other
0 basically so we can directly count trees
0 count animals count
0 um hay bales on a field everything which
0 you can count on your yourself we can we
0 can automate that process so if you have
0 any uh idea where to what to count then
0 just come to us
0 um we have a part partnership program
0 for um for New Year&;s cases and we can
0 get it implemented very fast
0 um that&;s one thing uh we are able to
0 measure a surface area of different kind
0 of weeds
0 um we have
0 a vegetation index calculation are the
0 the usual ones to um you have in other
0 software and we have a damage assessment
0 algorithms for uh for wind damage for
0 wildlife damage and for a water logging
0 yep okay uh so this answers uh the
0 question as well uh other one I think
0 maybe I can try to answer this is from
0 Andrew
0 um if there are any abrupt changes in
0 elevation uh are you using a rangefinder
0 to ensure altitude consistency uh so
0 basically by default when you&;re flying
0 it&;s understanding like your fight
0 altitude and these cases are about like
0 10 15 meters so I think in those cases
0 should be sufficient with your GCS
0 ability to follow the terrain however
0 I don&;t think I also wanted to mention
0 is that actually uh yeah here this pH
0 engineering we also offer uh Twitter and
0 following kits so if you need to follow
0 the terrain quite closely
0 um with a very slow I would sort of with
0 a very low uh margin for error then you
0 can actually use a real-time uh data
0 from an alternator so if you go to
0 integrated.ugcs.com or your best
0 research GCS integrated then also you&;ll
0 be able to see uh the system that we
0 offer for a large DJI drones so m300
0 m600 and M200 series as well as custom
0 art belt and PX4 based drones so it has
0 the rangefinder and ability to follow
0 the terrain with tutor and following
0 so let&;s mark this one as well uh then
0 about the uh Phantom 4 Pro that you&;re
0 flying uh what&;s the maximum GSD that
0 you have achieved with your drone if you
0 can we mentioned that
0 I&;m not sure that what&;s the maximum
0 here is the the highest or the lowest
0 well I can I can tell you the the range
0 so
0 um some of the use cases but we really
0 really have to see
0 um like insect damage which is very
0 small then we go down to 0.3
0 millimeter per pixel the upper scale is
0 whatever the low
0 allow us to
0 to take so like it&;s like two two and a
0 half centimeter per pixel or something
0 yeah well well I&;m assuming in this case
0 it&;s probably meant the the minimum uh
0 GSD so basically what&;s the highest
0 amount of detail that you can see yeah
0 so we can safely fly at eight meters
0 um constantly and we have very very good
0 experiences with the elevation data
0 um the software has it&;s it gives us the
0 possibility to fly very low
0 okay so now the next one would be uh for
0 another one of our Watchers so in case
0 of ragweed they also deliver a map for
0 this sprayer
0 absolutely yes thank you for this
0 question I totally forgot to to mention
0 this but you can actually export any of
0 the heat Maps we we have and then you
0 can you can use that uh model to with um
0 with your sprayer drone or with the
0 classic spray tractor
0 um any kind of format which which you
0 can imagine is exportable from from uh
0 from the software so like PML shape file
0 garages and everything
0 okay so I think that answers also that
0 and then basically the last question
0 that we that we currently have is uh
0 have you tried this on uh commercial
0 potato production cities for uh in
0 season nitrogen and yield prediction
0 well not yet potato is on our radar for
0 next year if you have if you have a use
0 case then come to our website contact us
0 and we&;re happy to happy to take that
0 prioritize on our list
0 yep okay and so then uh I think as far
0 as the questions go then that was it uh
0 one thing I also wanted to mention here
0 kind of towards the end is if you want
0 to learn more
0 about the GCS uh then you can visit uh
0 gcs.com or visit our shop so this would
0 be
0 shop.gcs.com so let&;s quickly maybe
0 share uh the screen there with you so if
0 you go here
0 then uh you can actually see what
0 licenses we offer and what can you get
0 if you just want to maybe try GCS first
0 then you can go here into subscriptions
0 and then we also offer a 21 day trial
0 for which you can apply and then within
0 24 hours normally we also send you the
0 trial code but if you just want maybe
0 for example play around with flight
0 planning you can simply go to gcs.com
0 then go to support downloads and you can
0 actually download the software and use
0 it even without any activation key you
0 won&;t be able to use it on a real drone
0 but if you just want to play around with
0 planning see how it is then you can
0 actually also download this at any time
0 and try it out so there&;s actually now
0 one more
0 um
0 I&;m not sure if it&;s a question but yes
0 from Andrew uh so when you export your
0 heat map to a conventional sprayer uh is
0 it plant by plant
0 if you understand the question yeah um
0 it doesn&;t make sense to to spray
0 um plant by plant
0 um theoretically it&;s possible but we
0 used to adjust the heat map
0 um to the working width of the sprayer
0 so for like a spring drone it&;s like
0 eight to ten meters usually so you you
0 can export that that resolution
0 um for your for your leads
0 yeah and I just uh
0 want to
0 set just the same to come to our website
0 there is a section for their own Pilots
0 if you&;re interested then
0 um you can um you can come there you can
0 register you can learn more about our
0 services
0 and then I suppose one final question B
0 so regarding Wildlife damage
0 yeah so if you can&;t do Wildlife damage
0 uh well I suppose a world of damage
0 detection uh can that be done uh from
0 higher altitude uh perhaps uh 200 or 50
0 50 feet or 80 meter altitude or more
0 um and then John says that his
0 constraints are a time no more than two
0 batteries to cover uh quite a large area
0 in that time so basically can you detect
0 from a higher altitude I suppose that&;s
0 the essence of the question
0 well so um if you um if you have the the
0 camera which is able to capture
0 um this uh eye resolution
0 um then then it&;s possible so
0 um basically it&;s
0 depending on a little bit on the on the
0 crop but for the for the usual crops we
0 can go down to one millimeter per pixel
0 GSD and with a with a P1 camera probably
0 with the tele objective you can fly
0 around 60 to 80 meters and still get
0 um the data which which is suitable for
0 this use case
0 yep so uh I guess then probably the
0 setup John you would have to look into
0 would be the DJI m300 plus the P1 camera
0 and then I suppose with that yes you can
0 already detect features from still quite
0 a uh high altitude well you know still
0 retaining quite a high uh resolution of
0 that
0 um and yeah so would this question
0 answered I think that actually probably
0 concludes uh our webinar unless there
0 are any other questions so I just want
0 to thank you first uh to uh both of you
0 guys for a technic partner it was for me
0 also actually very interesting to learn
0 more about how our software for for
0 flight planning is used in agriculture
0 and to learn more about what you do and
0 also of course thank you to everybody uh
0 listening and watching this webinar uh
0 like I said the
0 um the recording will be available later
0 on on YouTube so we&;ll send you that and
0 yeah so you have our site you have uh
0 proof minders site so you can go there
0 check it out uh see more info and yeah
0 so hope to see you in future webinars
0 and let&;s all stay in touch
0 thank you
0 very much
